*Storyline and characters all belong to J.K. Rowling and the magical world of Harry Potter; only a select few characters are mine.... which I will indicate in authors notes and prefacing chapters. I have created the main character Alden Noel and a lot of her interactions with other characters such as Snape, etc. I have stuck to mostly parts from The Goblet of Fire so far but also have included excerpts from some of the other books/ movies as well. For example, McGonagall's sorting speech from Sorcerers Stone* This story is just for fun. I also have gained inspirations from reading other authors brilliant fan fictions. All rights and credits go to the people they belong to/were inspired from. Apart from my creations of a few characters/storylines. *

Alden's POV:

The letter came for me very early Monday morning. I was awoken by a tap at the window. I rolled over towards the window; moon beams gleaming into my face.  There perched an owl I didn't recognize, a crushed up paper gripped tightly in its beak.  I reached out the window into the brisk fall evening air and grabbed the wad from its beak. I wordlessly "Accio" my school robes on and a thick cardigan.

I wandered the dungeons to find a good quiet place to read. I pulled my deep purple cardigan closer to my body, shivering slightly. My wand tucked into one pocket and wadded up paper in the other.

I found a little nook between the dormitories and the potions classroom. I sat on the ground and pulled out the paper. It was still fairly dark, the sun not yet risen into the sky; looking around to make sure the coast is clear before I wand-lessly and wordlessly cast Lumos' to form a beautiful orb of light. I placed the orb in my lap in order to open the crumbled paper, then picked up the orb with my right hand and held the paper in my left to read. It was one singular sentence...

I will come for you.

The hair on my arms stood straight up despite being bundled up in a knit cardigan. Was this meant to be ominous?  My heart lunged. I knew despite not having been told that I was kidnapped at a very young age and that Marshall was not my dad or whatever he was supposed to be to me. Maybe it's someone from my birth family trying to reach out to me. I didn't really know what to think.

** Flashback to the past**

I'm sorry my love, I didn't mean to hurt you." His thumb stroking down my cheek, dragging the blood down my face from the cut on my cheekbone. I sat in silence, tears mixing with the blood. "ANSWER ME WHEN I SPEAK TO YOU"  Marshall's voiced roared, he dropped his hand to grab me by the arms so I couldn't move.

All of a sudden footsteps halt in front of me. I panicked and quickly extinguished my orb of light only to be met with light of the end of a glowing wand two feet above my head.

"Miss Noel." a familiar voice hissed. "What are you doing out of your bed at this hour? "

"I'm sorry Professor, I couldn't sleep and then I received this note from someone and I was anxious to read it....so I came out here into a corridor. I didn't want to disturb my roommate that is still asleep, sir." I looked up, my light brown eyes meeting his dark eyes.
