It's already been four months since Hanni had transferred. During those four months, she and Minji had been hanging out so often that they were basically living together. Movie nights here, brunch dates there, it was as if they were inseparable. It was two months in their hangouts that Hanni finally realized her feelings for Minji, but didn't really know how to express it, so she decided to ask for some help from a certain Aussie about it

Minji's facade was hard to keep with because of all the unexpected attitude changes, but she managed just fine. She can admit that she likes how much of a red flag Minji behaves when she's maintaining her image, and normally, she wouldn't give a damn if Minji was like that, but, for some God forsaken reason, she does not not give a damn. She wants Minji's attention. Not in the usual hyperactive sense, but just her focus on her.

"Minji, could you help me with this?" She insinuates, placing her notebook on Minji's desk, purposely leaning close to the other girl. Minji doesn't hesitate and starts teaching the procedure to her easily with the occasional hand holding and hand-on-waist action, being the touchy type that she is, not that Hanni minded. "I really hope you got all that," says Minji with a smile, her facade already broken, but Hanni answers, giving her a thank you head pat, and quickly goes back to her seat

Everyone who knows of Minji has basically already settled on the 'fact' that they're together, and no one really plans on going against it, so it continues. Minji's cold demeanor had become warmer and more open, and everyone liked it that way(less glares for them, I guess)

Finally, halfway through the second semester, Minji and Hanni had just exited the cafeteria when a girl suddenly came up to them, holding a box of chocolates with a note stuck on its cover. "Uhm.. Minji, this is for you.." The girl speaks softly, hanging her head low, "Huh? Uhm.. thank you..?" Minji hesitantly reaches for the box, but the girl immediately shoves it into her hands and runs off

"Hey! Wait!" She was abt to run after her but Hanni grabs her just in time, "Let her, just open that, I'm curious as to what it says" she says calmly, curiousity gleaming in her eyes. Minji just shrugs it off and opens the note, looking closely at the words written on it. She looks at Hanni, who also looks at her. Deciding it best to read it now, she does so aloud

" 'Hi Minji, you're probably confused, but you won't be soon. That girl was just a little messenger of mine. Come see me at the music room' " Sharing a look of confusion, Minji stares at the note for a hot second before Hanni snaps her out of it, "I know that curiousity kills the cat, but I feel like we should check it out"

Agreeing with Hanni, they make their way to the music room. "Who do you think it is?" Asks Minji, "Do I look like I know, dumbass?" Hanni gives a snarky remark, flashing a cute smile, Minji just rolls her eyes, "So mean"

A few minutes later, they arrive in front of the music room, "It's empty." Minji peers through the window, trying to see if whoever gave her the chocolates left something. And she was right to do so. There lay a note on the piano, just beside a single rose. Hanni was already inside by the time she noticed it, so she hurried to follow

"You seem way more curious than me," she chuckles, gently nudging Hanni by the shoulder, "Well, I'm sorry if the rose is too pretty for you" Again, Hanni flashes her that cute smile of hers. "You're literally so mean," Minji gives a little pout, "You read it this time." Hanni just sighs, but she reads it aloud nonetheless

" 'Sorry for the little trick, here's a rose to make up for it' ," Hanni's nose scrunches up, finding the words cringey but still continues to read, " 'The dance room would be a good place to meet properly, wouldn't it?' " They both share another look, but Minji just grabs Hanni by the hand and let curiousity get the best of her once more as they make their way to the dance room

"What game are they playing.." Minji mumbles to herself, Hanni just rolls her eyes with a fond smile. Again, just a few minutes later, they both arrive at the door, brows furrowed at the empty room. "Again?" With a heavy sigh, Minji enters and notices the note stuck to the front of one of the speakers

She starts to read it aloud without a second thought, Hanni fidgeting with the rose in her hand, listening intently. " 'Another trick, haha, sorry' , " reads Minji, " 'I promise you, I won't do it again. Just please come to the rooftop.' " She narrows her eyes at the note, expecting some sort of answer to her questions, but sighs in defeat as she nods at Hanni at the direction of the door, the latter following her with not a single word

After a comfortably silent walk up to the rooftop, Minji finally opens the door, eyes met with three girls standing with signs in their hands. "Danielle? Haerin? Eunchae? Wha..?" She says, the girls' wide smiles not failing to catch her attention as she steps closer to see what's written on the signs, reading aloud again, " 'Turn around, idiot' "

Turning around despite the confusion, Minji finds herself even more confused as Hanni is standing there, not just holding the single rose earlier, but is now holding a bouquet of roses instead. A shy but slightly confident smile settled on her lips. Minji felt her mouth open and close, having so many things to say, yet not a single word comes out

"I'll make it quick," Hanni lets out a grunt-like sound, "I like you, Kim Minji. A lot. I don't know how, I don't care how. All I know is that I like you so much, I'd do anything and everything for you," She takes in a deep breath, eyes lingering on Minji's as she straightens her back, "I did all that earlier because I couldn't tell you how I feel. You know how bad I am at expressing shit," She steps closer to the still silent Minji, "So I'll ask you this once. Kim Minji, will you be my girlfriend?"

Minji could only nod. How was she supposed to answer when she was still processing her circumstances. Hanni Pham, her best friend and her long-time crush, was confessing to her and asking her to be her girlfriend

'Being Hanni Pham's girlfriend,' She thought to herself, a dopey grin starting to spread across her lips as her gaze softened, still settled on Hanni's pretty face. "You're staring," Hanni giggles, taking hold of Minji's hand, "I'll forever treat you right, Min." Hanni brings Minji's hand to her lips and places a soft kiss, letting Minji's free arm wrap around her waist and letting go as the girl gently pulls her in for a loving embrace

"We'll take our leave," Danielle's voice rings in their ears, the taller Aussie leaving and being followed by Eunchae and Haerin. "You smell amazing," Minji mumbles, snuggling closer into Hanni's neck, slouching slightly as the other is a bit shorter. "I always do," Hanni's find their way around Minji's neck, resting her chin on the older's shoulder

"Can we stay like this for a bit?" Minji pulls her even closer, "Of course," replied Hanni, her smile never leaving her lips

The two stayed there for a while, enjoying each other's presence in their arms, the warm feeling of their bodies together overwhelming the cold wind that brushes over them every now and then

That's where I'll end this. We wouldn't want to disturb the two, now, would we?
