The Ultimate Hunter: Bloodhound

First Day Back

UA had opened back up and classes had picked up where they left off. Class 1-A was sitting in their seats, awaiting All Might to start their final class of the day, heroics. As they did, Izuku felt his phone buzz. He noticed it was a message from Anan and opened it.

Anan: -Your new suit got delivered just a few minutes ago. Hope it's in time. Love you.-

Izuku: -All Might isn't even here yet so it's just on time. Love you too.-

He then put his phone away. Just as he did, the door swung open revealing All Might. He proceeded to walk into the room and over to the podium.

All Might: "Welcome back! I hope you all learned something valuable during your internships!"

Everyone took a quick glance at Bakugo who's hair was styled in a comb over.

Bakugo: *Yelling* "It won't go back!"

It suddenly puffed back into it's usual spiky nature. All Might then cleared his throat to get their attention back.

All Might: "Now that you've all learned, we must see just how you've changed."

He pressed the button to bring out their costumes.

All Might: "Get changed and meet me at Ground Gamma, I'll explain more there. Young Midoriya, where is your case?"

Izuku: "My suit got a few changes and upgrades. It should be here soon."

As if on cue, the case slide into place.

All Might: "I see. I shall be going now!"

With that he rushed out of the room. The students stood from their desks, grabbed their cases, and left to get changed.

All Might stood at the edge of the observation platform and watched as the class walked out of the hallway minus Izuku.

Iida: "Midoriya's new costume is a bit more complicated than last time sir. It might take an extra minute or two."

All Might: "How so?"

Bakugo: "From what he told me, his old man sent him a couple support items."

All Might: "Ah I see! Support items are important and must be working correctly!"

After a couple more minutes Izuku walked out of the hallway. His costume was significantly different. While the base was the same, he traded the skull helmet for a more traditional helemet. Gone were the feathers, in their place were pouches. The color scheme had changed from blue and white to more muted colors such as brown, black, and a dark green. On his right arm, ARTUR was perched, and a pulse blade was held in his left hand. On his right hip was an RE-45 while Raven's Bite was on his left.

Izuku: "Sorry about the wait. Syncing ARTUR and the pukse blades to my HUD took a bit longer then I thought."

All Might: "Nonsense Young Midoriya, as long as they're working correctly."

Izuku then fully joined the group and they all turned back to face All Might.

All Might: "Alright! For the test to see how much you've all changed, we will be doing a race! But not just any race, no, a rescue race! I will place myself at a random point in this training ground and activate an S.O.S beacon! You will be broken into groups of five which will go one at a time!"

A few minutes later, and the groups were chosen. Izuku, Iida, Ashido, Ojiro, and Sero lined up at the start.

All Might: "Alright! You may start once the signal activates!"

All Might then leapt into the training ground. After a few seconds the beacon activated. They sped off into the maze that was Ground Gamma. The others watched from a large screen that showed cameras of all five participants.

Kaminari: "I don't really know who's gonna win, but I'm sure Midoriya's going to lose. He's a cool guy but he's the only one in that group without any mobility moves."

Jirou: "As much as I hate to agree, you're right. Unless that's a grappling gun on his hip, I don't see him winning this."

Tokoyami: "Don't count him out just yet. I believe he will atleast make second."

Bakugo: "The nerd's got something up his sleeve. I know it."

Izuku was running through the maze of pipes.

Izuku: "ARTUR, come."

The robotic bird came to his side. Izuku activated a pukse blade and handed it to the bird.

Izuku: "Drop it at the site of the beacon. Then come back."

The bird let out a caw before flying up and away.

All Might stood, waiting for his first batch of students to show their faces. A shadow went by quickly, making him look up, just to see a bird fly by, and an object falling towards him. Stepping out of the way, a kunai shaped knife stabbed into the ground and started emitting a small sound. The bird then flew back the other way.

Izuku noticed the silhouette of All Might appear in the distance. A caw signified ARTUR's return.

Izuku: "Show me the shortest route to there from here."

With one last caw, ARTUR did it's duty. It flew up and showed Izuku a map with a highlighted path. Izuku then began to follow the path and headed straight for All Might.

Class 1-A was amazed, Izuku was in the lead. While their classmates either were going around abstacles or over, Izuku was heading straight through. He slid under pipes, climbed over generators, and cut through cables. It looked as if he knew where to go, what to do and when to do it. Bakugo let out a laugh.

Bakugo: "I knew he could do it."

Izuku climbed on top of a large area of pipes. He was close, just a couple dozen feet left. He looked to his left, Sero was swinging. He looked to his right, Ashido as sliding and Iida was running. He could beat them. He ran as fast as he could to the edge and leapt. It was then he realized most of the distance left was vertical, and not up. He fell quickly but was able to activate his jump pack just before landing to soften the fall greatly.

When he landed, he rolled on his side. He then stood after a few seconds, took his helmet off, and looked over to All Might who was looking at him with a surprised smile. The man then stepped over and handed the pulse blade back to Izuku.

All Might: "I believe this yours?"

Izuku: "Yes. Thank you sir."

All Might: "Don't thank me. You got first on your own!"

It was then Izuku realized he had beaten his classmates. He raised his arms high in celebration.

Izuku: "Woooo- ack!"

Even with his jump pack, the landing didn't do much good for his back.
