One day, the young goddess heard crying from her cloud up in the sky. The source of the crying could be heard from under a huge tree.

The young goddess lifted herself up from her cloud and flew down to the earth. After she landed on the earth, she made her way to the tree to find whoever was crying. When she got to the tree, she could see who was crying. It was the young god sitting underneath the tree with his head down and hugging his knees. The young goddess didn't know what to do. She had no idea on how to comfort the young god. She was used to seeing the young god smile while he was taking care of all the plants and helping people.

The young goddess decided to ask him if he was okay, since he was clearly upset about something. So, the young goddess asked him, "Are you okay?" This startled the young god because he thought that he was alone. He looked up to see who had asked him that question and saw the face of the young goddess.

He had never seen the young goddess before. He had met every other being and creature on the earth, but she was something entirely new to him. He wasn't sure if he wanted to lie to her about him being okay. He didn't want to trouble her with his problems, but he couldn't stop himself from saying those four little words.

"No, I'm not okay," he told her. The young god looked at the young goddess to see what she would say.

"May I sit with you?" she asked the young god.

"You may," the young god responded.

The young goddess sat down in front of him. The two gods looked at each other. They didn't say anything to each other. They sat there in silence. "I was crying because I was thinking about my mother," the young god said to the young goddess.

"What happened to your mother?" asked the young goddess.

"My mother...she went back to the earth some time ago," he told her, "and I was thinking back on the memories I had with her. And all the tears that I was holding back finally flowed."

The young god wiped tears from his eyes as the young goddess watched him. "I'm sorry. She's been gone for so long and I thought all my tears for her were gone." "Why should all your tears for her be gone?" asked the young goddess. "Every other being except for Darkness and Demetra is expecting me to move on and continue my mother's duties, but how can I do that when I can't even think about her without crying!" exclaimed the young god.

The young goddess only looked at the young god, trying to think of something to say. She didn't know what kind of relationship the young god had with the other beings, so she couldn't tell him what she was thinking, which was to tell the young god to tell the other beings to shove their opinions down their throats. However, the young goddess could tell him this: "Well...maybe you should find someone who won't expect you to move on so quickly from the loss of your mother. You could talk to Demetra and Darkness."

"I could, but I don't want to bother them. They both have their duties," said the young god to the young goddess. "Plus, they live far away and I don't have time to walk all the way to where they live."

"Then we can fly to where they live. You can show me how to get there and it will be faster than walking all the way there," said the young goddess to the young god. "You can fly, right?"

"Of course I can fly! It's just that I don't want to trouble you!" "You're not troubling me. I don't have anything to do during the daytime and if we do take all night, I can still bring the stars out and make them shine."

The young god just stared at the young goddess with a look of surprise. He had just met this goddess and here she was, offering to take him to Demetra and Darkness' home. He didn't even know her name and she didn't know his, yet she offered to help.

The young god spoke to the young goddess, "I don't know your name."

"I don't know your name either, so why don't you tell me yours first and I will tell you mine," said the young goddess in response.

"My name is Forest. It's a pleasure to meet you."

"My name is Marilla, and likewise. Now let's get going. The sun will not stay up forever."

Marilla offers her hand to Forest. Forest grabs her hand, and the two start to lift themselves off the ground to fly.
