Damn you, Morgan Granite , Ethan thought , shooting the object of his anger a fierce glare .
Morgan shrugged back at him in a don't -blame-me kind of way and smirked evilly at him.
What?! He even has the gall to make fun of me ! . It's like this pup has forgotten who's superior here.
Ethan gave him an even fiercer look and this time Morgan shrank back in fear.
"Hey , don't scare him , big , bad , wolf"Michelle said threatingly to Ethan.
"What ? You're taking his side too?" Ethan snarled.
" Why, won't I ? He's my mate after all" she said winking at Morgan .
That sentence bit Ethan hard .
Then Shalom decided to defend her sister too .
"She's correct, she's gotta take her mate's side after all" Ethan heard the root of all his problems say.
Then why won't you take my side too long . Ethan thought despairingly. Maybe I'm just not count out for a -----"
WHAT!!! Do I sense amusement from her ? ARTEMIS!!! She's laughing at me too. He felt like looking for a nice , dark rock to crawl under and hide there forever and never come out .
Sighing heavily,he asked the Alpha to excuse him and he was leaving he gave Morgan a good shove to his satisfaction.
"Hey!!!" He heard Morgan and Michelle yelling after him ." Watch it!!!". But he was too embarrassed to care .
" Can I see you for a sec, sis"ichelle said more quietly to her eldest sister.
"Please excuse us, Father , Morgan, Amanda and Sapphire" . Shallom nodded at each of them before following her sister out of the pack the house .
Finally stopping short of the woods , Michelle faced her sister.
" I nearly let myself go ,Michelle. I was worried about him and I let it show . Thank the gods , that I regained my composure fast enough ".
Sighing " He's always miserable because of you" Michelle said out of pity for the poor guy ." You know he's your mate and you keep on rejecting him. And he's the one bearing the brunt because as an alpha female you can fight the pull because you're extremely strong as a result. But he can't fight the pull,even if he wants to, which he obviously doesn't ".
"I know you still see me as a child ,but-----".
"Michie" Shallom said cutting " I don't have the time or energy to deal with having a mate right now with the inevitable war coming. So I can't help it in any way ".
"Yes. You Can" Michelle argued ." I'm also going to fight in this war too remember? And due to our positions, we will always be in danger and targeted . But I always feel safe because I know Morgan will always have my back no matter what because HE'S MY MATE".
"Okay , I'll try" . Shallom smiled at her sister .
"Promise?". Michelle asked .
"Promise ". Agreed Shallom.
"Great. Then let's head back".
