Chapter 5

Y/N and Jill were leaving the burning building and look for a way back to the subway. They climbed up a fire truck and walked across the ladder. They jumped down and landed back on the street. Y/N looked around as he was recognizing the place.

Y/N: "Hey, isn't this the back of the police station?"

Jill: "Yeah. You see Kendo's gun shop ahead? We can take the path right by it to get back to the subway."

Y/N: "You know the streets well, Jill."

Jill: "I know these streets like the back of my hand."

Y/N: "Maybe you can give me a tour."

They eliminated the zombies in the area then head to the door next to the gun shop.

Y/N: "It's locked. No problem, I can get this open."

Jill: "No need. The key's in the gun shop. It won't take long."

Y/N: "That reminds me. I need to leave something in there."

They were about to go inside but Y/N walked at the end of the road to have a look.

Jill: "What is it?"

Y/N: "You see that entrance that leads to the sewer ahead? Right there."

He pointed to the other side of the unfinished road.

Jill: "What about it?"

Y/N: "That sewer leads to the hidden lab I told you about."

Jill: "An Umbrella lab right underneath us."

Y/N: "As much as we'd like to check it out. We don't have time for it."

Jill: "I know. We need to get back."

They went inside Kendo's gun shop to look for the key. Y/N decided to look for a pen and some paper. Jill spotted the key and walked to the back of the shop. Suddenly, someone came out and point a shotgun at her.

Kendo: "Don't move! Shit, Jill."

He lower the gun.

Jill: "Kendo, you alright?"

Kendo: "Yeah, alright is a stretch. Sorry, I got a little jumpy."

Y/N: "We don't blame you. You don't know what would come in that door."

Kendo: "No shit. Don't know what to expect. I thought I locked that door."

Jill: "We're using a subway to get people out of town. You in?"

Kendo: "A subway? Well... That's good thinking."

He glanced at the door at the back.

Jill: "When we get out, there's gonna be a lot to do. We could use a man of your skillset."

He turned back to Jill.

Jill: "Is there something wrong?"

Kendo: "Nothing...Just...bad timing is all."

Y/N: "I take it you have other plans?"

Kendo: "Yeah... Look, um... Don't worry about me. I'm gonna make other arrangements, alright?"

He walked to the back door.

Jill: "You better. You're the best gunsmith around. Don't do anything stupid."

Kendo: "No, no. That's your job, Jill."

Y/N: "I thought that was my job."

Kendo: "Keep sticking around with people like her and it will be. Take care, Jill."
