You get to the room a little early and notice that it is, indeed, empty, so it shouldn’t be a problem meeting him here. When he walks in, he closes the door and locks it behind him before turning around and almost running at you to wrap you up in his arms. He breathes you in, and you don’t even realize that you do the same, taking all of him in.
“Shouldn’t you leave the door open? It’s probably a bit more suspicious if we are alone in a locked room where people are expected to be in and out of.” You smile up at him.
“I know. I just wanted a moment with you where I can hold you. Is that so bad?”
“It’s not.” You say and let him hold you tight, hugging him back.
He holds you for a few minutes and then goes to unlock the door back but doesn’t open it all the way. He comes back, and the two of you sit to hang out for a minute. Reading your mind like he always does, he just smiles over at you. “I have about 30 minutes before I’m going to be needed for anything.”
“Really?!” You say, a little more excited than you mean to let out. He just chuckles at you.
“So?! What did you get me?!”
“Um. Well. I kind of got it for us? I mean, I saw it at one of the stores and I thought it was so cute!” You reach in your pocket and pull out the keychain you bought. His face goes completely blank, and you wonder if he hates it.
“Y/N. Did you know that legos are one of my favorite things?”
“I didn’t before today!” You smile at him and hand him the keychain. “The guys saw a really cool lego kit and were talking about how you would have a lot of fun building it, and when I asked, they said you're REALLY into building legos. I couldn’t buy the kit, as it was several hundreds of dollars and people would DEFINITELY question that, but when we were checking out with other things, I saw this cute little keychain, so I got us both one.” You watch as he just holds the keychain of the little lego block in his hand as if it’s the most precious thing he’s ever been given. It makes you swell with happiness.
“Y/N, I love it.” He says in such a small voice, you almost don’t hear him.
“See look! I got two of them, and they connect! I know it’s a little cheesy, but I felt like it would be something that even when we aren’t together and connected, it would be something small we would know has another half?” You cringe a bit, getting your reasoning out. You look at the ground to avoid his eyes when he looks back up. Before you know it, he stands and pulls you up and back into his arms.
“Thank you, Y/N. Nobody has ever gotten me anything like this before.”
“The guys don’t get you gifts?”
“You clearly haven’t watched any of our birthday lives.” He laughs into your hair as he holds you close to him. You separate so that nobody walks in on anything suspicious. You stay and talk to each other for the rest of the time, but he keeps the keychain in his hand the whole time, just looking at it every once in a while.
Before you know it, it’s time for everyone to get ready for soundcheck and for you to find Jay. He is going to take you out during the show. Apparently, they have a box reserved at most shows, so you can watch from there. You guys only have to be backstage or around the barricade long enough to watch your boys go on and then you will go through everything with them to see how they felt about it all and then you are free to watch as much of the show as you want.
The energy backstage is insane as you guys can hear the crowd going crazy. It’s not even the full crowd, as they only let a few hundred in for VIP for the soundcheck. You ask Jay if you can go out to watch, and he leads you around, and you guys watch from the back of the floor in front of the tech booth. It’s insane how loud just a few hundred people can get. As soon as the guys walk onto the stage in their more comfortable outfits, their voices fill the larger empty space. You stand on your tiptoes to see the back of the stage where the guys are all coming out.
You watch as they react with the crowd, talking to them and telling them how many songs they’re going to play and making sure to wave at everyone on all sides before starting. Halfway through the first song, they come down to the front stage and look like they’re already having the time of their lives. Somewhere in the middle of the second song, Wooyoung is at the front of the stage and looks up and sees you and Jay standing there. He just smiles at you quickly before looking back down at all of the fans singing along. You’re rather impressed at how they sing both the English and Korean parts of the songs.
They finish the last song, only having one left before they go backstage and get ready for the show. They head back to the back stage to start the last song, and you see Wooyoung bounce over to Seonghwa, pulling his in-ear out to whisper something to him. They both turn around and look at you, and you just smile at them. Nobody else seems to notice, thank God. They start the next song with just as much energy as the last one left off, making sure all their Atiny are having the best time. They're really fun to watch like this, so you can't imagine what the actual show will be like.
You find Seonghwa looking at you a few times when on the end stage and just smile at him. When they finish and thank everyone, letting them know it will be just a while longer, Jay turns to you and asks what you thought.
"That was crazy and it's just soundcheck! Where does all the energy come from?!"
"You have no idea. Just wait until the actual show!"
