Chapter 2

𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙮  𝘼𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙤

I woke up to my alarm going off, I slowly got up and turned it off before I woke everyone in the house up. I ran Tahj a bath and quickly washed him up, I picked out his school clothes and got him ready for school. I brushed his teeth and put lotion on his face. I quickly jumped in the shower almost screaming from the cuts on my arms and thighs. I finished my shower, got out, picked out my clothing, and brushed my teeth. I got dressed and did Tahj's hair. We both were ready and I put his shoes on and gave him his bag. I quickly put some foundation on top of my bruises and put my shoes on. I picked him up, quietly grabbing my keys and heading out the door. I unlocked my car and strapped Tahj in. I got in the car and put my seat belt on making sure Tahj was comfortable before I pulled off.

 I stopped at Dunkin to get him some food. He ate in the car and once he was finished I drove to his school. I dropped him off and gave him a kiss before saying our goodbyes. I got in the car and drove myself to school. I parked my car and go out locking the doors as I walked into the school, thankfully at school no one really bothered me. I went to my locker and grabbed what I needed and headed off to class. I had a test first block and I think I did pretty good on it. At the end of the day I went to the school library and started my homework. It was 2:00 and I didn't have to pick Tahj up until 3:30. I was able to finish all of my work just in time.  After finishing my work I always bring my homework back to my teachers or leave it in their mailboxes in the front office so that I don't have to bring anything home. I walked outside , unlocked my car and got in. It was 3:20 and I made it to Tahj's school just in time. I got out seeing all of the kids running to their parents. I see my sweet boy walking out of the school and locking eyes with me as he ran out smiling. He jumped into my arms and I tried not to wince. "Hi Mr. Sweet Face!" "Hi mommy!" He said cheesing really hard. I showered him with kisses "I missed you" he giggled and I stopped walking him to the car. I strapped him into his car seat and got in. I started driving home when Tahj started calling my name. 

"mommy. mommy I'm hungry" "Okay what are you hungry for?" I said looking at him through the mirror. "I want pizza" "Okay we can get pizza!" "Yay!" He said excited. I drove to the nearest pizza spot. we entered the restaurant and the yummy aroma of pizza filled our noses. I went up to the cashier and ordered. "Hi what can I get for you?" "Hi can I get two plain slices and two small waters  please?" "alright that will be $9.84" "Here you go" I said handing her $10 "You can keep the change" "thank you" she said smiling at me. Me and Tahj sat down at a booth and we started talking to each other. "How was your day bub?" "It was good Miss Honey taught us about our ABC's and how to count to 10?" "really?! count to 10 for me" "Okay! 1,2,3,4,5...6,..7,..8,9, and 10" he said trying to remember everything in order. "good job Mr. Sweet Face!" I said clapping my hands. Despite all that we go through Tahj is really smart and loves school. I'm glad he enjoys it. It's our only escape from the nightmare we live at home. Our food came to the table and we  took our time eating. I wasn't going to rush home because I don't like how that fat pig tried to put his hands on my son. We finished our food and went back to the car. I knew I was going to get a really bad punishment for not coming straight home after picking Tahj up but I don't care I put my son before anyone else. I started to pull into my neighborhood when I noticed police cars outside of my house. 

"what the hell?" I said quietly. I got out the car picking up Tahj and walked over to the police officers. "what's going on?" "Miss. Armando?" "yes?" "Your parents got into a serious altercation and have unfortunately passed away" "wait what?" I said trying not to sound happy. "A drug deal gone bad" he said I just looked at him shocked. "Miss. Armando is there anyone who can come pick you and your son up?" "n-no it was just them taking care of me and my son" "Alright how about you go inside and pack your things and we can go to the Police station and get a sample of your DNA and see if you might have any family members that can take care of you" From what I know my dad didn't want me and I don't even know if he's still alive. I walked inside with Tahj and we went upstairs. "Mr. Sweet Face can I talk to you for a little bit" "what's wrong?" "If the police ask you any questions don't bring up anything about them hitting me okay?" I meant to have a talk with him about it this morning but it totally slipped my mind. that was his first time seeing something so bad like that. I'm worried that he might have told his teacher. But I don't think he did. I grabbed one suit case because I didn't have much but I always made sure that Tahj had more than me. I packed all of our things and we both went downstairs. I was allowed to follow the police officers in my car because it would make me more comfortable that my son is safe in his car seat. We made it there and we went inside, I followed the police officer to a small room they had and waited. Tahj sat in my lap and a the police officer finally came back and I read his badge. "Salvatore" He swabbed my mouth and put it in a tube 

"it should take about 30 minutes to get the results" "okay" I said as he walked away and I started playing in Tahj's hair. "ouu Mr. Sweet Face your hair is almost long enough for me to braid it." I talked to Tahj for what seemed like hours until the officer came back. "Miss Armando the results came back and you do have a relative that can take you in" He said walking up to me with a big smile on his face. "who?" "Your father, Vincenzo Armando"
