Chapter Six:

"So today, we will have a new fighter joining us." The Alpha smiled at me.

"I know I've mentioned her before, but this girl is one of the most skilled fighters I've ever seen. She single-handedly took out seven Shadow shifters by herself and was hardly injured. Might I add, she didn't even shift into her wolf during the fight." The Alpha praised me, whilst the wolves gasped in shock and awe, they still didn't know it was me.

"So with that in mind, I seriously suggest no one gets on her bad side." He joked. I quietly chuckled to myself. "She and her father recently moved to our pack, she is eighteen years old-" I heard the gasps that left some wolves mouths when they heard my age. "Military-style trained, and brilliant in hand to hand combat, I see no one more fit of training you all. So, please welcome her and be nice." The Alpha said with delight.

"Kat, come over here." Alpha Martinez called out to me. Great. Talk about the spotlight.

I stepped into the pack's view, and many had their mouths open in shock.

Wolf whistles flooded the field by the male wolves, which made me slightly embarrassed at the audience, but I kept a straight face. Some may even call it 'Resting Bitch Face'.

I smiled at the Alpha, who gave me a fatherly hug. "Hey, guys. I'm Kat." I said a wave of cheers set the field. "Okay, Kat, how about you take the training today?" I looked at the Alpha shocked. I thought I would just be observing and training alongside, not training the pack!

What is he playing at?

"Relax. Let them get to know you. Show them what you can do. Without putting them in hospital." Alpha Martinez's mind linked me in a playful tone. I knew not to question his madness. I chuckled back, "you got it Alpha." I mind linked back. He growled softly in my mind. "Sorry, sorry, I mean you got it 'James'" for some reason the Alpha and Luna hated it when I called them by their titles.

"Okay, well let's get started." I clapped my hands together.

"Where's Sam?" Someone said from the crowd. Even his name sent chills down my spine. I soon recognized the guy. Jake. "As much as I'd love to see you shake your pretty little ass, I want to know why a girl is training us," Jake said, a few males laughed along with him. I looked at James, he looked at me in return, giving me the look of approval to shame Jake and kick his ass.

"Do you doubt my abilities to train you?" I said in a deadly calm voice.

Selena was pissed but I kept her at bay. She wanted to shift and show him how good we can fight. She and I both hated being questioned and underestimated. Almost how an Alpha gets challenged. It just doesn't work out for the other party. "I'm just saying, you may be hot and everything, but I hardly think you can train us. We are the best-trained warriors in the whole of America." He said cockily.

Prick.

"Well. Jake. I tell you what. I challenge you to spar with me, if you win, proving my 'incapability of training the pack, then you can train them and I will step down. However, if I win, you allow me to train this pack MY way." Let's see if this cocky shit head is worth it. "Deal." He said trying to act confident. But Alpha James and I both knew he was scared.

"Clear the space." James bellowed as the pack made a large circle.

"Rules?" Jake played.

"Don't kill him, Kat." Alpha said, making the entire trainees 'oooh'. Jake gulped, his eyes betraying him, showing me the fear.

We began to circle each other in a predatory way. I thought of him as a puppy. Even though he was bigger than me and more built, he lacked knowledge. His bark was bigger than his bite. Rookie mistake.
