Chapter Seventeen:

Kat's P.O.V:

My eyes began to flutter open, something heavy was on my waist. I was about to beat the shit at whoever was in my bed until I saw it was Sam. I can't even describe the feeling that passed through me as I saw him. This mate bond seriously makes me feel weird.

I looked up at a sleeping Sam, his lips were parted slowly, as he quietly snored. He looked cute, seriously I think my ovaries just exploded. His arm was tucked behind his head, the other wrapped around my waist.

"You're staring," Sam said smirking with his eyes closed. I couldn't stop the blush from forming. "I'm gazing," I replied. "Someone's lovesick." Selena taunted. "shut up" I so smartly replied. "It's creepy," Sam said smirking still. "It's romantic." I retorted.

He grabbed the pillow from under him, covering his face. "Hey!" I exclaimed fighting for the pillow, all of a sudden Sam flipped us over, so he was on top of me. He gazed into my eyes, before placing a soft gentle kiss on my lips. It was a short kiss but still left me as gazed and as breathless as the rest.

"Hmm... I could get used to waking up to you." Sam said making me blush, I may be a badass but when you have a cheesy hot mate like mine. All that shit goes out the window. "Hmm. Me too." I said leaning up and pecking him. He moved his head slightly back so he could see my face. An indescribable look passed his face, but I couldn't tell what.

"I DON'T WANT TO BE A GRANDAD ANY TIME SOON KAT!!!" My dad yelled from downstairs. Why was he at the packhouse? And...

"NOT HAPPENING ANY TIME SOON DAD!" I yelled back at him. "Really. I'm pretty sure I can change your mind." Sam whispered in my ear, making his lips touch the back of my ear. I couldn't help but shiver, making him aware of the effect he has on me.

Stupid mate bond. "Nice try Mr. Alpha," I said tapping his cheek before pushing him off me. I got up and stretched, "I'm going to have a shower." I yawned, Sam got up following me, "what are you doing?" I raised my eyebrow at him. "Saving water." He said smirking at me. "Keep dreaming." I laughed, shutting him out the door.

"Oh, I definitely will." He called out. I chuckled to myself opening the tap, letting the water warm up. Looking over at my self in the mirror, I noticed the slight change in my appearance. My eyes. They just seem to be a bit brighter, I look different, I feel different.

"Aiden and I have connected. That's why." Selena said in a hushed whisper, almost as though she's sighing? "Why do you sound so upset then?" "I'm not. I promise. It's just I can't believe we finally have our mate. I can't wait to connect with Aiden even more." Selena gushed. "Easy there tiger! Baby steps." I stepped in the shower, thinking about how great things are being right now. But let's face it, I'm Kat Jennings. Nothing stays good for long.

I couldn't help but think about Silas. And what the bastard has in store for me. He is such a prick, I can't wait to kill him. Breathe Kat, breathe. The warrior in me always had her defenses up, but I just can't help it to be paranoid. Something big is going to happen, I can just feel it in my bones.

After my shower, I peeked my head through the door to see where Sam was. He wasn't in my room which gave me the all-clear to go and grab my clothes from my closet. I changed into my casual training outfit, shorts, sports bra, hoodie, and sneakers. I threw my hair in a high ponytail, moisturizing my face, and grabbing my phone before heading down.

"—That's what I said" Sam laughed as I turned the corner to see him and my dad laughing together... Dafuq? "Am I missing something here?" I asked slowly, weirded out by the sight of my dad and Sam conversing so casually. "Nothing to worry about darling, pancakes?" Dad said smiling at me. I nodded, my eyes trailing to Sam.
