The rest of the day lingers on. All to soon, it's almost 8:30, time for my detention with the Carrows. I slowly start to make my way to the Dark Arts classroom. Miraculously, I enter the class at exactly 8:30. The female Carrow is in the room and she smile sweetly at me as I enter. God how I want to slap that stupid smile off her face!
"Good evening Morgan." she says sweetly. "Please, take a seat." She motions towards the many empty desks and I sit down in the one closest to me, and shoot a hateful glare at the professor.
"Now Morgan," she starts. "I'm going to give you one chance to apologize for your unexpected outburst in class today, and we can walk away from this as friends, no questions asked."
Still glaring hatefully at her, and spit, "I won't apologize for the truth, for something I didn't do wrong. The things you are teaching us are evil and not right!"
"My dear," she starts sweetly once again. ""Save it!" I say loudly. "Now is this detention or a chitchat session?" I ask bitterly, almost daring her to punish me.
She smiles evilly. I can tell I just crossed a line, but I don't care. "Of course this is a detention my dear." she continues in her obnoxiously sweet voice. Quickly, she walks over to her desk and pulls something out of it.
"Do you remember a lady named Delores Umbridge?" my professor asks me. "No." I hiss. I recognize the name though. But from where? "Well, she was a professor here too, and she gave many detentions to deserving students." she starts. "And I only asked because I'm going to use one of the same methods of punishment that she used."
My throat tightens as I realize where I recognize the name Umbridge, she was a ministry official that tried to take over Hogwarts in what would have been my fifth year, if I wasn't stuck at Josh's house. I also realize that she's the one who Harry and Ron attacked when they broke into the ministry. I can only imagine what "punishment" Carrow has in store for me.
"You are going to be doing some lines for me tonight Morgan." she shad darkly, pulling a fancy looking quill and some parchment out of her desk and bring them over to me. I raise my eyebrow at her and hold back a laugh.
"Lines? That's my big punishment?"
"Yes, lines." she relies calmly. "You may begin."
I pick up the quill and pull the parchment closer to me. "What do you want me to write?" I ask, my voice still filled with hate. Professor Carrow thinks for a moment then responds, "You will write, I must respect authority." As she says this, she seems to stand a bit taller, apparently considering herself "authority".
"And how many times?" I ask, staring at the plank piece of parchment.
"Oh, as long as it takes for the message to sink in." she replies sweetly. Slightly confused, I hold the quill preparing to write, but then I notice I haven't gotten any ink. "Um, professor, you haven't given me any ink." I say, rather annoyed.
"You won't be needing any dear." she replies, her back turned to me as she walks back towards her desk. Still confused, I begin to write. At first, nothing comes out of the quill. I'm about to say something when all of a sudden, bright red ink starts coming out of the quill as I write. I guess it just needed to be worked a bit to start the ink flowing. I continue to write without a word.
After a few lines, I feel a weird itch on my opposite hand. I pause for a second and look at my hand. It's all red and I can see faint outlines of some weird cut on it. I don't remember getting that! I shake my head and continue writing, ignoring the weird something on my left hand.
I write another line or two, and feel a bad pain shoot through my left hand. I look down at it again and I see, written across m hand and bleeding, "I must respect authority" in my hand writing. I look from my hand, to the quill, and back to my hand.
A shadow falls over my desk and I look up to see a smiling face liking down at me. "It hurts, doesn't it?" Professor Carrow asks. I don't say anything and just stare into her cold grey eyes. "I guess the message hasn't sunk in enough. Keep writing."
I turn back to the parchment, pick up the magical torture quill, and continue to write, pain shooting through my hand with every line as the words are carved deeper into my skin, blood smothering my hand.

An hour later, the teacher comes back over to my desk and roughly grabs my left hand. I bite my bottom lip to stop myself from screaming out in pain. She looks at it for a second, studying the damage. After a second, she lets it go and says, "That's enough for tonight I believe. Thanks you Morgan. I will see you tomorrow in class."
She takes her quill and the parchment off my desk and I get up from the desk. I quickly exit the class, glaring at professor Carrow, and then make my way to the hospital wing.

After lying like crazy to Madame Pomfrey about what happened, I get my hand cleaned and wrapped in bandages, and I head back to the Gryffindor common room.I quietly enter the common room and start to go up to my dorm, when I see Olivia, sitting on one of the couches, totally immersed in a book, not even noticing that I'm back. I go over to her and tap her shoulder. She screams and whirls around to see who tapped her. I start dying laughing, and after Olivia realizes it's just me, she joins in.
Afterwards, she gets up and hugs me, dropping the book she's reading on the couch (what a shock, she actually put the book down!!!!). "So, how was detention?" she asks me. "Uh, fine." I reply, looking at my hands. Olivia looks at my hands too and sees m left hand, wrapped in slightly blood soaked bandages. She grabs my hand roughly, making me wince. "What happened?!?!" she asks loudly.
"Shhhh!" I whisper-yell at her. "You're going to wake up the whole bloody castle!" I pull my hand away from her. "It's nothing." I tell her. Olivia raises an eyebrow at me. I sigh, knowing I can't hide what happened from her. I check to make sure that nobody is around, then I tell her all about my detention.
