MOON PHASE - 30

I didn’t know, I was no longer thinking and acting. My heart had been shattered and only a few words came out of my parched mouth.

“………..KAI!“

A yelp suddenly slipped through my mouth.

The million questions rushed in my head, including why he had to do all of this. Confusion and resentment clogged my throat. Only fountain of tears were flowing down from my both the eyes. My voice was unsteady, and I began stammering. No matter how much you go through in life or what position you are in, life will always put your patience to the test.

It’s difficult for me to think properly. My intellect had ceased operating. He smirked from the exposed side of his face, while holding the other half of the broken mask over his face. He gradually taken out his mask, but his other side of the face was still contained by his thick strive locks. The broken piece of mask in his hand instantly changed into the clown card.  He placed the card between his two fingers and pointed at me.

Here I was, defenseless and stunned. I was not in a position to fight back. However, I tried to remain composed. I said to myself,

“It’s all right. It doesn’t matter who he is. It is my responsibility to protect the innocent.”

“It’s all right. We just met a few times. We don’t have a meaningful bond.”

“It’s all right.”  My voice trembled.

“It shouldn’t have to affect me too much.”

“And that’s all right.  So What if he is Kai……….?”

My body begins to tremble with resentment. Why does it so painful to my heart, just knowing it’s him? Just because I realized that the man I used to admire was suddenly my most formidable foe? Was that the reason I felt so heartbroken?

I was completely shredded and anguished. Despite the fact that I was alive, I had the impression that everything else was lifeless. I was in my grief when I heard someone’s voice. He was saying something like,

“Master.”

“This is the moment we’ve been waiting for.”

It was his assistant’s voice that instructed the Kai to take action. I could hear what they were saying but I couldn’t do anything about it. As I was no longer engaged in fighting. Again, that assistant said to Kai, but this time a little rudely.

I rolled my eyes from that assistant to Kai. He wasn’t looking at me either. So I couldn’t grasp his intentions, whether good or harmful. However I noticed his eyes were disquiet, and I didn’t even try to decipher them.

Kai walked towards me and stopped, standing there. He didn’t say anything, but stared at me with void eyes.  We fixed our gazes on one other for a few moments. But before I could move my gaze, he broke eye contact. Perhaps the weight of shame caused his eyelids to droop, as lifting the weight of infamy was more difficult or it was just my imagination.

That old fatty assistant scolded at him once more.

“MASTER. WE ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME.”

So Kai stepped closer and placed his hand on my head in order to possess me. When he was engulfing me with his wicked energy, my body began to absorb some kind of energy force, and we both bound together. It was Kai who was transformed into a black smoke and entered into me. I was fully under his spell now.

They had finally accomplished their goal. I felt like a robot, with complete control in him. I could not regulate my body and wasn’t able use hand gestures to cast spells. But I was able to read their thoughts. Everything, even their plans.
