Chapter four: Holt
It has been a few years since I moved from the moon to Earth. We have been able to build some beautiful structures and for the most part everything was going smoothly. That was until one of the aliens decided to take it upon himself to destroy what we have built. This creature has killed many people and caused multiple buildings to fall. We started to build everything to withstand his powers. Talking with government officials they have all said that I should make a statement to try and make it less tense. Talk about putting everything in the past. I take a deep breath before stepping in-front of all these people who have blinding cameras and millions of questions.
'Hello. I am Holt, I was incharge of making sure we were able to build without getting disturbed. Unfortunately while doing that I did make a mistake and hurt some of the Aliens who had made this place their home. In turn this caused many others to get hurt as well. I think we should recognize that there were mistakes and move to the future rather than living in the past. More deaths aren't going to fix anything." I say looking around the large crowd that had gathered to listen. A soft clap breaks through the clicks of cameras and loud questions. Many turn to face the petite frame of an alien who has his face covered with a black veil. Not expecting for the one who has caused destruction through the past few months to actually show up to the speech. "Thank you for coming. I appreciate your time."
The figure seems to look pretty harmless. I can't believe they are honestly the one who has caused all the destruction. That was until four reporters were getting tossed around by veins like they were playthings for a few seconds before getting crushed to death by the vines. Their blood, guts, and parts of their skin covered the ground and others who have come to the speech. The small figure bows and blows me a kiss before ducking into the town disappearing. I rush off the platform and chase after the man. He seems to have disappeared as quickly as he appeared. I can't imagine him being able to get very far however the only beings in view are a white haired alien with soft pink clips in his hair keeping the bangs out of his face and a larger alien who seems to be almost finished with his cigarette.
"Can I help you?" The large alien askes with a soft playfulness in his eyes that tells me he knows something I don't. Unfortunately for him I also know something he wouldn't want the smaller one finding out.
"Did you see someone with a black veil run by?"
"Black veil? No, no can't say I have. Have you seen anyone Raven?"
"Can't say I have." Raven says, taking the cigarette from the larger alien and bringing it to his lips before blowing smoke in my face. He could see him drawing a lot of attention with the higher class girls who are only just now arriving from the moon. He has the soft bubbly aura to him that only people with grace and an understanding of themselves have. He seems like a thing a person would feel comfortable telling anything to. That could be dangerous, but in a very different way then killing someone in cold blood.
"Very well thank you." I say before continuing to walk by and around a corner waiting to see if they say anything once they can't see me.
"You gonna tell me what just happened there kid?" The larger alien says, sounding irritated.
"Oak, I don't want to talk to you about it. Not to mention he is listening to our conversation." The blonde mumbles.
"We will talk about it later then." Oak says.
"Very well. I will be by your shop to tell you everything about it. I am gonna go to work now. I have closing shift tonight so I will see you tomorrow. I suppose your shop will be closed by then."
"That hasn't stopped you coming by before. I'll make tea." Oak says, before I hear him walking away.
"Great. I will see you later tonight." The smaller one says before walking the other direction. I decide to follow the smaller one thinking that he may be the guy who was in the veil. He walks to a cute little cafe and goes through the back door. So I suppose he wasn't lying about needing to go to work. It would be a little odd if it were someone who is a functioning member of this society would randomly kill innocent people. I should head back to the office, I have got my own work to attend to.
