December 16, 2023. Back in Blockmurry, California.

"Bye, Mel, I love you." Seth tells his girlfriend, as he stands at her front door to leave. He was at her house for a project that they had to work on together and they picked each other as partners of course. They've been dating for a year—well almost—their anniversary is tomorrow.

"Love you too. Call me when you get home, okay?" Melissa replied, pecking him on the cheek with a smile on her face. He nodded in response and walked away from Mel's house.

Seth was still too young to drive so his sister, Alexis, was picking him up. Alexis pulled up to the driveway and waited for Seth as he walked to the car and got in.

"Hey. How'd it go?" Alexis asked. "Yeah, good. We finished the project in time." Seth said in response with a subtle smile. Alexis nodded and they both drove away.

Meanwhile, Melissa fixed up her living room where she and Seth worked, and was finally walking upstairs to her bedroom. Her parents were away for work and they both usually stayed late.

That was until she paused, hearing her cellphone ring from inside of her pocket. She reached for her phone and looked at the Caller ID, thinking it was just Seth calling... but how could he have reached home so fast?

It wasn't Seth. Calling her was "No Caller ID."

Her eyebrows furrowed and she picked up her phone, "Hello?"

Silence remained on the phone. She sighed.

Melissa paused, confused as she looked at her clock. The clock read 9:21 PM.

"Who is this?" She spoke again.

"Who do you think?" A male, dark and eerie voice responded.

She chuckled in response. "No clue, but if you're not gonna tell me who you are, then bye." She spoke as she hung up, not giving the person a chance to speak. Melissa then walked down the stairs and towards the kitchen so she could get herself a cup of water before bed.

She placed the phone on the counter and walked towards the kitchen sink, before her phone rang again. She huffed in annoyance and walked back to the counter. The name was still "No Caller ID." She picked up the phone again and held it to her ear.

"Yes?" Melissa spoke in an impatient tone.

"Why'd you hang up?" The voice asked, he spoke in a sinister tone.

"Because I don't know you and you're not telling me who you are, now stop calling because I have things to do." She lied. Really the only thing she had to do was go to sleep.

"Oh really? Like what?"

"Things. Doesn't concern you, honestly."

"You don't need to be rude, I'm just asking." The voice chuckled.
