Belly and Conrad were in the kitchen. Conrad was busy cooking while Belly sat on the kitchen island. Conrad looked at Belly. He couldn't believe half of the things that had just happened, yet, it all seemed surreal.

"My mom would laugh at all of this," Conrad said as Belly looked at him.

"What? Jeremiah cheating on his girlfriend?" Belly asked.

"No, me trying to cook," Conrad said as Belly chuckled.

"Lemme help you," Belly said as she chopped up the vegetables.

"My mother would be ashamed of Jeremiah. I can't believe he did that," Conrad said as he noticed the silver necklace around Belly's neck.

Considering that she still had it, Conrad was not surprised that she was wearing the necklace that he had given her many years ago. He was actually glad that she wore it at all. Conrad had smiled at Belly feeling like things were slightly awkward. She was now his brother's ex, but she was also the girl that he would always love.

"What are you doing now with college? Are you going back to Finch or what?" Conrad asked as Belly looked at him.

"I don't know yet. I'm not going back to Finch. There's no way. I don't want to face Jeremiah again," Belly said.

"Belly, you know eventually you will have to face him, right? He's your best friend," Conrad said.

"Well I don't have to do that now," Belly said.

"And I'm also not going to force you. I just want you to be happy," Conrad said.

"And I will be. Just not yet," Belly said.

Conrad had looked at Belly cutting up tomatoes and carrots while he had thought back on their time together. For many months when they were together, Conrad had imagined how it would be if Belly and he were married. How they would share cooking duties and other chores. How they would teach their children about everything and how they would grow old together. And for a moment, that was true and it could be real. And now eh and Belly were just slowly growing closer.

"Are you considering Brown?" Conrad asked as Belly shook her head.

"Brown will never be the right place for me. I'll have to see. Why are you anyway worried about that?" Belly asked as she looked at Conrad.

"We may not be together anymore, Belly, but I'm still your friend. I'm allowed to care," Conrad said as Belly smiled.

"I appreciate it," Belly said.
