"It is going to take a while since he has a long and complex entrance to the bar so we can chill a little", Ashley said, trying to calm her best friend and the new company from what just happened, "Follow me. The cops are probably searching us at the shopping mall anyway."
Otam sighed annoyed, "Are we in Doctor Who or why does the route sound like a maze?"
Ashley chuckled and began to walk forward while Otam and Anyora hesitated for a few moments, starring at each other. Then, Anyora was the first to turn her face and quickly follow Ashley before she turned behind the corner. Otam groaned and catches them up in the next seconds.
"It's called...", Ashley tried to sound scary and giggled again, "...mYsToRyyyy~"
Otam got nervous and anxious at the same time. "Y-you're kinda weird right now", he stuttered.
"Welcome to the ultimate group of weirdos", Anyora said with a sarcastic tone, walking past him.
Ashley just gave Otam a worried look before she caught up her friend while he still was confused why all that stuff happened to him. After a few seconds, he also joined them, shouting behind, "Hey! Don't lose me!"
After ten minutes of passing empty streets, the crew entered an abandoned house with partly broken glass windows and a sign hanging "Keep out." It seemed to have been a shop once in the past. The sky had gotten cloudier since the three were walking, still avoiding people, especially the police and the FBI. The friends looked at each other when they arrived. Otam looked spooked, Anyora slightly amused by the vibes, and Ashley smiled brightly.
"Are you sure it is here?", Otam asked, nervously scratching the back of his head, "We also walked pretty far away, for the record."
Ashley chuckled, "It's the best hiding spot for someone who wants to escape the society! Also, it is meant to be a tricky entrance to scare certain people off and it's not as bad as it seems" She took a few steps inside and turned to see both stand like rooted. "Comin' or not?"
Otam hesitated for a few seconds, then decided to walk in. Anyora stood there without much reaction and simply followed them both. She even enjoyed that place somehow. Whether it was because it felt familiar to her or did she adjust to scary things that quickly, she didn't know. In cases like those, she could rarely explain those kinds of feelings and thoughts she repressed as much as possible. She was sick of the rumours about her being abnormal.
While Anyora was looking around to see shattered glass and broken wires from the ceiling, she didn't notice that Otam was looking at her with worry. He wondered whether he did hurt her somehow with what he said back earlier or if she at least still thought about it. He still decided not to talk about that since it made them both feel uncomfortable.
Ashley's cheerful voice interrupted his mind before he flinched.
"Rick really loves spooky ambience why he chose this place of all", Ashley turned to Otam, "But believe me. The basement is pretty comfy. The hall is spooky, but where he actually lives it's pretty neat and warm. You're going to feel immediately home there."
"I hope so", Otam mumbled in response while Anyora slightly shrugged her shoulders with as less emotions as usually.
"Well then, get your flashlights ready soon", Ashley said enthusiastically, "We gonna have a kind of a road underground."
They walked down the hallway until they saw stairs leading to the higher floors and to the basement in the other direction. It was cool there, so the crew got goose bumps from the lower room temperature.
Anyora's vision suddenly flashed again. The sharp pain hit her as suddenly as a lightning would strike the earth. She gasped loudly and covered her aching eyes with her hands, stepping away from the crew. She hissed through her teeth and doubled over.
