Project ORION (a RWBY fanfic)

Chapter 18

It was a long and grueling task for them to transport Stalker but once they were within the confine of Ozpin's office, Yang let go of the boy and Ruby had no choice but to drop him as he collapsed onto the floor as he moaned in some pain. Ozpin helped the boy up as chairs were arranged for Team RWBY to sit in as Ozpin had Stalker propped up against a chair as he walked to his desk and began to bring up everything he had of Project ORION. As soon as he found what he needed, he went and played the video as he fast forwarded it till they were back at the part Team RWBY had last seen.

"And we're back watching this, why?" asked Yang.

"I didn't show you the whole thing that happened after they implanted the heart... its something quite... saddening." Ozpin said simply as he played the movie.

The team looked back and at first, everything seemed normal. Doctors were cleaning things up and getting stuff done. But Ruby noted that there was suddenly a loud beep in the video and every one of the doctors looked as another beep happened. Then, she saw Stalker's pale body becoming as black as the fur of the Grimm they kill.

"Doctor... are... are you seeing this?" asked a nearby Nurse.

Then, suddenly, Stalker roared and they all jumped in unison as they watched his face growing the Grimm jaw of bone and he began to suddenlyily bust through the leather straps on his body as a doctor took up a needle and lunged at Stalker. Stalker grew claws on his right hand and he slammed the doctor into a nearby wall and as everyone in the room began to evacuate, Stalker was howling and roaring and Team RWBY was silent as Ruby heard Yang mutter, "I knew he was an animal..." and Ruby went back to watching Stalker tear apart the room with animal savagery.

But then, like a light switch, Stalker calmed down and as he looked around in the suddenly ruined room and they watched as he slid to the floor and began to sob into his clawed hands as the door opened nearby and they watched Ironwood approach Stalker as he said, "Stalker, you have done it... You are the very first Grimm to be both human and Grimm... how do you feel?"

Stalker sniffed the air as he said, "I feel... like... like something is missing from me..."

Ironwood took out a scanner and went over Stalker before he said, "Your Aura is no longer being emitted from your body... it seems that even when you mix a Hunter with a Grimm that the protective Aura cannot even sustain itself against what it was made to defend against... a true shame..."

And with that, the video ended and all eyes turned over to Stalker as Yang said once again, "I still think he's Grimm..."

Stalker groaned as he said, "You really think I wanted to become a Grimm? I wanted to help the City so that it may continue to prosper... That is why I became a Hunter... Because it allowed to kill the creatures I have hated so much..."

"But why do you hate them? What have they done to you?" asked Blake.

At first, they all expected him to not say anything, or half expected him to. But then, Ruby barely heard him say, "They destroyed my home... and killed my family..."

"What was that?" asked Yang.

"Maybe a year or two before I came to here, I was with a friend of mine when we were exploring a mountain cave... We both were looking around when a fireball incinerated him where he stood and I quickly fled the cave opening as I returned back home...
