The week with Dad flew by quickly. I convinced Pops to go on a fishing trip on the Olympic Peninsula for the week. We stayed in a nice cabin along the Olympic Peninsula in the Olympic National Park woods. On the trip, while in a motor boat, I inform him, "I'm going to be going away next week Dad. Not sure how long I'll be away. I'm going to live with the Denali sisters and Carmen and Eleazar in Alaska." "I wondered since Tanya lives in Alaska and you being Twitter-pated I thought for sure you'd be on your way soon. Though I'm going to miss you I'm glad you found someone kiddo." He hugs me and pats my back. "I'll miss you too Pops." We smile at each other and all of a sudden Dads fishing pole about goes in the water. He grabs it quick and tries reeling in the fish. It fights him a good while but he finally reels it in and it's a monster Steelhead. I take a picture and he actually throws it back. I ask him about it and he claims it'd take forever to eat that monster so he just left him go. All week we go fishing. When we get back home we put the fish Dad did decide to keep in the freezer and I go start packing. I pack my truck up with my stuff. Then I decide to call Mom. Mom and I weren't that close after I enlisted in the army. She wanted me to be a teacher. I love kids but I don't know about watching someone else's spoiled kids. Mom picks up on the fifth ring. "Hello?" She obviously didn't look at her caller id. "Hey Mom it's me I just wanted to check in with you. Didn't see you much at the wedding." I say. "Oh hey honey I'm so glad you called you should visit sometime! There's all kinds of girls you could meet down here in Florida!" She rambles. "Maybe I'll visit sometime but to see you and Phil not girls. I'm dating Edward's cousin, Tanya Denali. I'm actually moving up there in Denali, Alaska this week." I say. "Oooh! I'm so happy for you! Which one was that? Was she at the wedding? Was it the one with her hair up in an updo? Or the one with long hair? Ooh the tallest one who was kinda broody?" "It was the one with her beautiful blonde hair in an updo and wore a gold dress. I danced with her at the wedding and we hit it off." "That's so wonderful hon but be sure to use a condom! Don't make me a grandma yet!" "MOM! Dad said the same thing! I'll be careful. How's Phil?" "Oh we're both ok sweetheart. We're really enjoying the beach down here and Phil's happy playing baseball." "That's good to hear." "Hey I'll talk to you soon sweetheart but my phone is about to die I can't seem to find my charger. I'll talk to you later love you!" "Bye love you too!" Man I'm going to miss talking to my maniac mother.
I lay down in my bed for the last time. In the morning it's a road trip through Canada to get to my baby in Alaska. Once I get to Denali I'm to call Tanya. Most people can't get to Tanya's home unless they've been there before. She apparently lives out in the furthest part of the woods in Alaska. No people around for miles. That'll be good for my turning. I still can't believe I'm going to be a vampire. I wonder if Bella is going to turn too? I start to fall asleep just thinking about becoming a vampire.
Bullets whizzing by me. Bombs going off. It's as if I was in Afghanistan again but yet I'm in a forest. Forks forest. And then a mountain lion jumps out of nowhere and lands next to me roaring! And I blink and there's a blonde goddess on the mountain lion and I hear a snap and the mountain lion goes limp. The goddess has her mouth on the lions neck. She looks up at me and blood runs down her chin. Gold eyes look at me. I wake up breathing heavily. Huh. What a weird dream. I get up and grab the set of clothes I set out last night. I go take a shower and get dressed in my jeans and a gray v neck t shirt. I throw on my socks and my gray converse. I style my hair with some gel messily and blow dry it quick. I gather what's left of my stuff and take it downstairs, grab my keys and put my stuff in the back of my truck. I go inside and realize Pops is still home. "It's 7? What you doing here Pops? I thought you'd be at work?" I ask. "I'm off to work as soon as you get on the road. I wanted to stay and say goodbye before you go." Dad says as I realize he's in his uniform and has his police gear on including his pistol. I nod and give him a pat on the back. "Thanks for staying to say goodbye. Did you want me to make us a bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast first?" I ask. And he scratches his chin and nods "Sure that sounds good." I get to work and fry the bacon and then fry up a couple eggs. I put mayonnaise on some bread and put the egg on the bread and top it off with a ton of bacon for both sandwiches. I hand Dad his plate and I grab my plate and we sit and eat quietly. Once we're finished I start to do things dishes but Dad stops me. "Don't worry about the dishes Ember. I'll do them up after work." "Ok thank you Dad." He smiles and nods and we make our way out the door. I hug Dad fiercely, "I'm going to miss you so much. Thank you for all you do for me and Bella and know that I love you so much Pops!" I hugs me back and replies with an "I love you too kiddo. I'll see you later. Be careful going up to Alaska." We awkwardly part and I rub my neck as we wave at each other. I hop in my truck and before I set off I turn on my gps. Then I head off. "Alaska here I come!" I turn up the radio when Green Day comes on. I start singing along.

Holiday/Lyrics

Say hey!
Cha!
Hear the sound of the falling rain
Coming down like an Armageddon flame (hey!)
The shame, the ones who died without a name
Hear the dogs howling out of key
To a hymn called "Faith and Misery" (hey!)
And bleed, the company lost the war today, and
Oh I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies
This is the dawning of the rest of our lives (whoa, oh, whoa, oh)
On holiday!
Hear the drum pounding out of time
Another protester has crossed the line (hey!)
To find the money's on the other side
Can I get another amen? (Amen!)
There's a flag wrapped around a score of men (hey!)
A gag, a plastic bag on a monument
Oh I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies
This is the dawning of the rest of our lives (whoa, oh, whoa, oh)
On holiday!
Hey!
Three, four!
The representative from California has the floor
"Sieg Heil" to the president Gasman
Bombs away is your punishment
Pulverize the Eiffel towers
Who criticize your government
"Bang! Bang!" goes the broken glass, and
Kill all the fags that don't agree
Try to fight fire, setting fire
Is not a way that's meant for me
Just 'cause (hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!)
Just 'cause, because we're outlaws, yeah (hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!)
Oh I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies
This is the dawning of the rest of our lives (whoa, oh, whoa, oh)
I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies
This is the dawning of the rest of our lives (whoa, oh, whoa, oh)
This is our lives on holiday!

It takes me about 3 days to drive to Alaska. I stopped at rest stops and just slept in my truck till I was rested and then I got back on the road. I stopped at Fairbanks and stayed in a Best Western hotel for a night. I got a much needed sleep and got a much needed shower. It's Thursday now and I drive to Denali from Fairbanks. It takes about 2 and a half hours to get there. As soon as I get to the Denali National Park I call Tanya. "Hi honey! I-" I don't get to finish that sentence. "Where are you? Are you ok? I'm loosing my mind love! You haven't called in days! I was getting really worried!" She rants and I stop her. "Honey, hon I'm ok! Calm down. I guess I should have called but I was driving and zoned in on getting here. I'm in the Denali National Park right now. If you or Kate or someone could come in your own car and then I can follow you to your house." "Sorry to have ranted but you scared me baby! Kate is already on her way to get there. She'll be there in half an hour. It will take 45 minutes for you to get here though since you insist on driving to the speed limit." "I can't wait to see you honey" I wonder why Tanya doesn't come get me instead but keep my thoughts to myself. "I can't wait to see you too. I have something to tell you but it'll have to wait until you get here in person." She sounds nervous. "Don't worry, babe, no matter whatever you have to tell me, we'll be ok and things will work out. Don't stress sweetheart." "Does Kate drive a gorgeous blue 1967 mustang?" I ask. "Oh good she got there. Just follow her and she'll lead you home my love. I'll see you soon. Bye now." "Bye sweetheart!" I reply. Kate parks next to me and gets out. I get out of my truck and she walks to me. Then I'm on my knees on the ground in a blink. Damn that hurt! She zapped me! "What the hell was that for?!" I ask. "You made Tanya and the rest of us worry! Couldn't you be bothered to pick up the phone?" She yells at me angrily. "I was driving and didn't take the time to. I'm sorry. But you know you guys had my number! You could have called me if you were so worried!" I snark back. "Don't you get snarky with me! You want me to put you on the floor again?! And we were going through some things at home and were a bit busy to call." She all of sudden acts nervous. "Oh! Is everything ok? Is everyone ok? Tanya is ok right?" I worry. "Let's get you home and we'll inform you of all the details. Everything will work out I'm sure of it. Let's go I'll slow my speed for you." She replies. Well that was reassuring! I jump in the truck and start the engine up. Kate takes off and I ride her ass the whole way there. What is it that they have to tell me that they can't tell me over the phone? God! It's taking forever to get there! Are we there yet?! Finally! I throw my truck into park and jump out of the truck. I follow Kate into a beautiful cabin. I tell myself I'll check out my surroundings later. Right now I just need to get to Tanya. We go into a beautiful living room. Tanya. Tanya stands there in the middle of the room. "Ember" she softly says my name. I'm flabbergasted. I try to find the words! "YOU'RE PREGNANT?!"
