-----Taeyong-----

"How can you do that?"

I try to control my voice. I had never been one to confront my parents about their wrongdoings. I was their little pet, after all. I have always known that it was the easiest way to live.

"Did you say something dear?" My mother questions, her voice calm. She didn't look at me, she was looking at Donghyuck's parents instead. "Well, do you have anything to say?" She asks them.

Mr. Lee looked completely enraged and Mrs. Lee's usually calm and elegant face carried a frown.

"How can you do that? You hurt that child!" Mrs. Lee exclaims. I hide my surprise and decide to take a step back for now. "That could've been my son! Would you have dared to hurt my son?!"

"We told him he could keep Donghyuck, don't be so dramatic," my mother responds, rolling his eyes.

The other woman scoffs and walks to the door without looking back, her husband following a step behind. "Don't contact us again!" she yells, slamming the door shut as she exits our house.

My parents say nothing, my dad soon calls for the maids to pick up the mess before going to his study. My mother follows after him and wordlessly, I follow too.

I close the door behind us before the man begins to speak. "We can't just let him walk away."

"Then what will you do? It's so unacceptable for whatever he has going on to continue," the woman says with a disgusted expression.

My blood boiled with rage. But I wouldn't speak, not yet anyway.

"For all I care, kill those boys."

"You don't mean that," I say with a frown, looking directly at our father.

"Have I ever said something I don't mean, son? Your brother has disrespected us and our wishes. He is looking to get hurt by doing so."

"You two barely even give a fuck about our personal lives why do you suddenly care?!" I snap. "You can't do that. You can't just threaten them like that."

"You know we can." My mother smirks, looking at me, looking for a challenge.

I say nothing else, I head to the door and out of the house. I couldn't spend the night here. I knew they were capable of it. Of killing someone. If they really wanted to, they would really do it and it scared me because could they go to such lengths even when their son, their blood was involved? The answer was yes. They only ever cared about power.

I drive off, calling someone. "Mr. Shin. I need to ask for a favor."

"Yes, Mr. Lee." His voice sounded groggy and I felt sorry but I cared more about my brother.

"My parents will be planning something horrid, please tell me everything. It involves life and death."

He hesitates. This could also hurt his life. "Okay, Mr. Lee. I will contact you as soon as I get information."

"Thank you, Mr. Shin, it means a lot."

I would pray for my brother tonight and warn him tomorrow.

----------

"They're willing to kill them."

It wasn't easy to get the words out of my mouth but after the call with Mr. Shin that happened at 5 AM, they needed to know. Our parents were already looking for people that would do it, they said 'Let's give them some time and do it when they least expect it.' The scariest thing; they said it with smiles on their faces.

I didn't want to leave my brother but now that I had warned them, I needed to give them space and time alone. I needed to go back home and do whatever I could to stop their crazy actions.

I went to our company headquarters instead of home after a call to Mr. Shin who was basically my father's right-hand man, though he was against everything he stood for. I went straight to my father's office where both my parents were, looking at paperwork calmly. Like they weren't planning to kill someone a couple of hours ago.

"What are you planning to do?" I ask monotonously.

"I thought we taught you to mind your own business." She glares at me.

"It is my business when it involves my brother." I clench my fists, trying to control my anger.

"We won't hurt him. We'll hurt his boy toys, not him." She scoffs, looking back at her papers.

Hurting them would be equivalent to hurting him, I wanted to say but I didn't. I went to the door instead.

"Shouldn't you get back to work, Taeyong?" My father's voice interrupts my exit.

I pause for a second. "I will."

----------

I spent the next couple of weeks trying to stop all of their plans. I called the people that they contacted and offered them money but none of it was close to the amount that my parents had offered. I got Donghyuck's parents to protect them, and they did. They got more security at their house and always had someone following them around.

It was unexpected when I got the call that they had gotten into a car accident.

My heart dropped and I sped to the hospital. I waited in the waiting room, feeling useless and guilty. I hadn't done enough, I know I hadn't. I should've been there. I should've protected them myself.

"Hyung," I saw Donghyuck after hearing his voice and I instantly hugged him. He chuckles. "You want to come to Jaemin's room? I think he's still out but we're probably all gonna gather there. Jeno and Mark are still getting checked."

I let go of him and smile softly. "I'll wait here for Jeno. Can you let him know?"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I'm sure." I pause. "I'm glad you're all okay, Hyuck."

He grins. "I am too."

He leaves and I wait. When Jeno came, I didn't know where to start, I was choking on my tears. I had been so proud, so happy that he had found happiness, that he had people to rely on after a long time. I had been shipped off to Japan and in a way, our relationship wasn't the same over the phone, so he had no one.

Now, I had to tell him the worst news possible.

He took my keys and he left. He gave me a letter to give to them. I didn't try to convince him otherwise. I knew that if he didn't leave then there was a big probability that this would happen again and it wouldn't be as mild. If it did happen, Jeno would beat himself up every day. He couldn't afford for anything to happen to them.

I sigh, sitting back down. I swallow my sympathetic tears and take a couple of seconds before standing up. Coincidentally, I stumble upon Donghyuck. Just as I was about to ask him to guide me to the others, I felt someone's eyes on us.

"Donghyuck, let's go see Jaemin," I demand.

He takes me to him.

"Where's Jeno," Mark asks.

"Could you wake Jaemin up first? All of you should hear this."

Anxiousness filled my stomach, How can I tell them this?

I tell them everything Jeno told me to say and I hand them the letter. I stayed a minute but then decided for myself to leave, I didn't know how to comfort them or even if I could.

I crash into someone as I come out. "I'm sorry."

"Who are you?"

I was trying to leave but the man grabbed my wrist, and he frowned. He must've seen my red eyes or felt me shaking. "Jeno's brother. Sorry, but I have to go."

I call a taxi and leave.

I needed to see Jeno. There was only me left now and this time, I wouldn't leave.
