C H A P T E R 2 : Mark, Mark, Mark, Mark
-----Donghyuck-----
It's unbelievable.
As I watch Mark iron and fold each piece of clothing, that was all I could think.
It's hard. It'll be hard. Him gone, only two bodies by my side.
I thought as he places the neatly folded clothes into one of his suitcases. I was in the bathroom but still had the perfect view of him and the other two behind him, cuddling and watching the TV.
Sometimes, I wonder what I was before we became an us. I wonder but I never wished to get an insight into that question. I don't ever want to live without them, not when I've felt what it's like to live with them in my life. I fear something may change when Mark won't be with us and it'll only be us three at school. I bet he's even more scared to be the only one separated. After all, we'll have each other but who will be there for him?
"Done," he says, patting his closed suitcase as I simultaneously walk out of the bathroom.
"Then, let's get started," I tell him enthusiastically, slightly shaking the bowl in my hand.
He drops his head and lets out a breath. "Why are you bleaching my hair again?"
"So that you can be the coolest, most handsomest guy in college! Plus, you'll look hot as hell. I know we're all thinking that," I say with a bright smile, looking between the three of them.
"He's not wrong, Hyung," Jaemins adds with that sweet grin of his.
"Your input?" I look at Jeno expectantly who diverts his eyes from the TV to look at me, then Mark, then Jaemin, and finally back to the screen.
"I agree."
"Thank you for your touching words. Come on, Mark. The faster we finish, the faster we can all lay down on the comfortable bed and eat tons of ice cream and watch movies!" I grab his wrist and drag him to the bathroom, sitting him down on the toilet seat.
-----Mark-----
These are the types of situations that make me just have the same thought over and over again... I want to be beside them all that time that's why it's so scary to be leaving.
-----Donghyuck-----
I quickly put on some gloves and skillfully start to apply the mixture to his hair. We stay quiet for a while, me between his legs as I work with his hair. I would look down every once in a while but every time, he seemed to space out as he played with his hands. I wanted him to tell me what was going on in his mind and I wanted him to tell me, us, how scared he was and how much he would miss us.
"Markie," I whisper the name I rarely used for him. Two reasons, I loved his real name and he hated this nickname.
He hums in acknowledgment.
"I'll miss you," I say in a quiet tone, my voice cracking slightly. I had been keeping it in for so long and when I said it, my eyes teared up. I knew if I said another word then I would break down.
He looks up, his eyes full of tears, and saying so much, too much, with a single glance. He stands up and instantly takes me into his arms and I finally begin to cry. I felt dramatic and I felt it was an exaggeration, perhaps I was just being too emotional but I guess things like this can happen; being so scared to be away from a person that it'd make you cry.
