weakness

i always believed my parents were invincible
and that inevitably i was too; however,
adulthood had other plans.

financial fear chokes me,
elbow against my throat
against a wall.
waiting for the moment
my body surrenders.

responsibility points a gun
at my head
until i give in
and hand over what i need to.

accountability, like a cop
reminds you of your rights,
but also your wrong-doings.
never allowing you to
live them down.

love is no where to be found
it got stuck in the traffic
without an estimated time of arrival.

my parents shielded this piece of the
game of life,
nonetheless they win the game
for being so invincible despite it.
not sure i'm so invincible though.
