"Did you just... did you just ignore me?" you gasped in surprise as Seokjin walked past you and into the kitchen. "Jin," you called out again, frowning when he didn't answer you.

Following him, you walked to him and grabbed the sleeve of his hoodie, pulling him towards you. He stared at your face, giving you a blank look, and then proceeded to pull out a vessel from the cupboard.

"Jin," you asked suspiciously. "Are you mad at me?"

All you got in response was the sound of water filling the pot as he stood patiently by the sink. He put the water to boil with a whistle and walked to the fridge to pull out some vegetables. Green onions, a carrot, a radish, some shiitake mushrooms that he bought yesterday, and a small serving of packaged meat. He emptied the meat into a bowl and began rinsing it, all the while humming a song under his breath.

"Jinnie," you called out again, the tone of your voice sounding like a stretched-out whine.

As expected, he barely glanced in your direction, adding some salt, vinegar, soya sauce and minced garlic to the meat, leaving it to marinate. As he approached the counter, you reached out and grabbed his hand.

"Let me help," you offered softly, pulling the knife and the onion towards you.

He blinked once, then walked back and pulled out another cutting board and knife, proceeding to chop the mushrooms without another word. You stood dumbfounded, feeling a pinch at your heart at his behavior.

The sound of the knife chopping through the veggies filled the kitchen, the tension heavy around you. With a confused frown, you chopped the onion and passed it to him as he nodded ever so slightly.

Seokjin dropped the ingredients into the boiling water, standing quietly as he stirred them.

You walked up to him and hugged him from behind, snaking your arms around his waist as you rested your head against his shoulder

You walked up to him and hugged him from behind, snaking your arms around his waist as you rested your head against his shoulder.

"Jinnie... I'm sorry if I did something to upset you."

His movements stopped for just a moment before he leaned over and pulled the bowl of meat and dropped them piece by piece into the soup. He didn't reply, again, subtly wriggling out of your arms to pull out a few more bottles of sauces from the fridge, leaving you feeling hurt.

"Jin, please," you grabbed his hand before he could move away from you, desperately trying to catch his gaze. You placed your palm on his cheek, guiding him to look at you. "Talk to me. Tell me what I did wrong."

He stared at you, his eyes glassing over. With a soft pout, he felt tempted to give into you and just bend down to place a kiss on your forehead, to take away the headache that he knew you were trying to hide. But then again, he reminded himself that you wouldn't be hungover if you didn't drink so much the night before.
