It had been a week since classes ended but the celebration held for the new graduates was still valid in his mind.
It was a ceremony full of joys and sorrows, all together at the same time. Because, as expected, there was a moment when a heartfelt tribute was paid to the students killed by the war.
Everyone, except Snape, had already retired to their respective homes, but he was reluctant to leave, as his house was unbearable to him like never before.
He didn't want to plunge into his cold loneliness yet.
Although he always lived alone and was comfortable with it, ever since he let her into his heart, that feeling had changed.
He not only loved her, but also her company.
He and inevitably he remembers her, so beautiful and graceful in her gown and cap. He applauded when she was called to present her diploma. He was very proud of her and she didn't even look at his side. A gesture that hurt him. But he wouldn't go back on his decisions.
After their last talk, they were never alone again, she limited herself to treating him as what she should never have stopped being, her teacher.
Now sitting on the bed that witnessed her moans so many nights, he drinks the concoction that since she left, lightened the weight of his soul, the filter of peace.
He sincerely hopes he made the best choice for both of them, or for her at least. He knew he had a bright and prosperous future.
Hermione Granger would go a long way from her and he wished her complete happiness on all the path that she still had to travel.
Although he now depended on said filter to continue living, well he knew very well that in his case, that thing that * time heals everything *, was real bullshit.

Two months after her graduation, she began working as an intern at the prestigious ministry as Mr. Weasley had told her earlier.
Minister Shacklebolt was delighted with the dynamics and skills of the young witch. She was truly a woman with her feet on the ground and with an incredible talent for fighting for the rights of the most vulnerable. Words that were spoken to her by the minister himself. And for that reason he named her his personal assistant.
Every day she added a little more responsibilities to her cost, but she was grateful to be part of everything she had dreamed of so much.
Of course, her happiness would be fuller if she had by her side, supporting her, the only man she had and that she will love forever.
She didn't think so much about him anymore, but she still hurt him. Her efforts to keep it were useless and she had to continue with her life and her projects. He wanted it that way too, after all.
She always arrived early to take over her duties and left very late. She didn't like to leave tasks for the next day, because there were always plenty of things to attend to and she didn't want to leave things pending. She was a staunch supporter of the Muggle phrase *don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today* and until now she stuck to it to the bone board.
Today was one more of those busy days where she studied every scroll that touched her desk, since because of her position, they gave her a small office so that she could work in complete peace of mind.
She is very focused on reading from her when there is a knock on her door and she invites whoever she is on the other side to come in.
She never takes her eyes off the scroll she has in front of her nose until she hears the voice of the person looking for her.
