The Waterfall

Khom couldn't have been happier to learn that Krit and Ruj had made up. He hoped that they never fought like that again because it really was taxing for him to do the guard rotations. He looked at the requests and saw that Ruj asked for not only him to have this coming Saturday off but also Lop and Krit. They had enough day guards that Khom could work that out for them. He could do two-night shifts in a row and Liam could handle things during the day. Kamol didn't have anything going on this coming weekend. Actually, he had just told Khom that morning that he was staying home this weekend because he was tired of not being satisfied.

He posted the adjusted rotation and Liam walked up and was curious why it was changed. He told Liam that Ruj wanted to take Lop and Krit somewhere. Liam just shook his head and as he was walking away, Khom heard say oh the Trio is all going on a date. Khom picked up his pen and tossed it at Liam hitting him in the head. Liam brought it back and asked what that was for. Khom told him to keep his mouth shut though Khom was thinking to himself that he hoped Ruj and Krit would have a talk with Lop. He hasn't exactly been his cheery self since that night. Ruj and Krit might have worked things out but neither of them has talked with Lop yet. Something that was bugging Khom.

Lop showed up to relieve Khom and noticed the new rotation for the coming weekend. He was surprised that he had Saturday off and didn't work either Friday or Saturday night. He was just about to ask Khom, when Ruj showed up, saw the rotation schedule, and smiled. Then he looked at Lop and told him to be ready Saturday morning around 9 am as they were going hiking and to dress and pack accordingly. With that Ruj walked away. Lop just looked at him as he left. Lop then asked Khom what he needed for hiking since he had never done it before. Khom told Lop what he would take and wear while hiking as he had an idea of where Ruj was hiking too. There was a little-known waterfall a couple hours' drive from their place. It wasn't a big waterfall, but it was simple and nice.

Saturday finally arrived and Khom watched Ruj and Krit pack up stuff in backpacks along with plenty of water. It wasn't outrageously hot today, but it is best to stay hydrated while hiking. Both Ruj and Krit helped Lop pack up his stuff. As they were leaving the mansion area, Kamol walked up to Khom and asked him if he wanted to make a bet. Khom was always up to betting with Kamol, and he figured one of these times he might actually win. Khom asked what they are betting on. Kamol said he bet 150 baht that they return from their hike all in a relationship. Khom bet against Kamol as he didn't think that was a possibility. They shook hands on it and Kamol walked back to the mansion and told Khom to go get some sleep. Liam walked up to Khom and asked him when he is going to learn not to bet against Kamol. Khom told Liam that this time he was going win. He felt it down to his bones. Liam just started giving the day guards their assignments while laughing.

In the car, Krit was telling Lop that they would be hiking to a waterfall. Lop was excited because he had never been to one before. Ruj went on to explain that it was man made and had been there for a about a century. Lop who loved history, couldn't wait to see this waterfall. It took them about 2 hours to get to where the trail was. Both Ruj and Krit made sure Lop had a full water bottle and a back up one in his backpack along with beef jerky. Krit and Ruj had the same in their backpacks. They started off on the hike and Lop was in awe of the scenery he was seeing so he made sure to get pictures with his camera. Ruj was taking pictures of both Krit and Lop. When they got halfway, there was a little picnic area where they sat down to take a break and eat the picnic foods that Ruj and Krit had packed in their bags. As they were eating Ruj started talking to Lop.

Ruj: Lop, the issues that Krit and I had was not your fault.

Krit: Lop, that is the truth. Ruj and I had talked about things, but I screwed up. It was all on me. You didn't cause the issue between us, and we have since reconciled.
