Back angle photo of a younger Erasme, looking at a sunset.
On this day, many many years ago, your mom and I decided to date.
We were getting tired of the questions—most of which were so unnecessarily stressful anyway—so we got rid of them and decided to finally hold each other's hand. :)
If anyone were to ask me what were my happiest years in life, I would always answer that it was when I dated your mother. She was the best thing that's ever happened to me; her love was the warmest hug I've come to experience in this lifetime.
Unfortunately, hugs don't last forever.
That's why I am here.
But you know, every time I look at your mom now, it doesn't hurt anymore.
I'm actually glad that it ended.
Because there's you.
