CHAPTER 124 - HANDICAPPED NOT HANDICAPPED
[Battle Start]
Himeno spread out her oversized metal claws, and Firius took a centered stance, raising his sword. Meanwhile, Rayne is just there, glaring at her foes menacingly.
I didn't get the rules for this match, and at this time, I'm too afraid to ask. Both Ryan and Esthesia looked so serious. Ryan is busily internalizing what Command Card he is going to activate first, while Esthesia's eyes are just fixated on Rayne.
Well, since this is a practice match to train both Rayne and me, then maybe the standard rule will apply to me. Only three Command Cards can be used by a Kaiser for this battle, although this will be a huge handicap for me too since the opponent can use a total of six. I don't know what just got into Rayne's mind, but it's too late to back out now.
"Esthesia, buff me up!" Firius immediately requested his Kaiser.
"Got it!" Esthesia swiped one of her hologram cards and raised it in the air! "Activate Skill Card: Double Strength!"
Red aura blasted around the Cyber Knight's body, multiplying his strength threshold by two. Firius tightly gripped his sword and then immediately charged forward, head first!
"Raaaaah!" Firius uttered a warcry.
"Ryan, what are you doing? We should do the honors of doing the first attack!" Himeno scolded.
"Right!" Ryan, after contemplating their best tactics, has decided to go with the flow. He swiped one of the Command Cards and then activated it out loud! "Activate Skill Card: Omnislash!"
Himeno immediately disappeared from her initial position, and teleported right behind Rayne! She swiftly raised her saber-like claws, ready to strike my Gladiatrix to shreds! I was about to swipe a Counter Card to prevent Rayne from being harmed, but I saw from her that she did not need any savings.
Rayne was well anticipating the teleporting backstab of the Cyber Cat! She made a step forward, conserving any effort as possible and as well evading the attack of Himeno! The purple cat may have missed her first shot, but she teleported right in front of Rayne and followed up with her second claw attack!
Rayne already knew that Himeno would be coming for her front right after that backstab, so she jumped back to evade the assault with a teasing smile on her face.
It seems that Rayne has already memorized the attack patterns of Himeno's Omnislash. We have already seen it in the Battle Fiesta a couple of times before, and Rayne has already experienced it firsthand during their battle.
Himeno teleported to the back of Rayne once again, but before she could deliver another strike, Rayne made a backflip to reverse their positions!
"What the!?" Himeno cried. She couldn't believe Rayne's extraordinary learning curve on the Omnislash's attack patterns.
I saw it as the perfect time to unleash one of the cards in my arsenal. I swiped one Command Card from my roster of five and then shouted it up in the air!
"Activate Skill Card: Fire-Rabbit Kick!"
Rayne's high heels were coated with astral flames, and then she unleashed a barrage of kicks towards Himeno's back!
"Gah! Hyah! Nyan!" The purple cat hollered as she got hit three times clean! She was immediately pushed down to the ground, making her face kiss the smooth green grass of the hill!
"Hraaaaah!" Firius continued his charge and then swung his buster sword to the right!
However, Rayne was quick to bend her body to evade that one singular attack, and then she continued her Fire-Rabbit Kick and jabbed the poor red-haired knight with the tip of her shoe!
"Ack! Kwah! Agwah!" Firius caught a total of five consecutive blinding fire kicks on the face before falling on Himeno who was about to stand up!
"Ouch! How dare you lay down on me, you asshole!" Himeno roared out loud.
"It's your fault laying there like trash!" Firius argued back.
"The audacity of you calling me trash!" Himeno immediately stood up and raised her blade towards the ginger-haired knight. "You will pay for this, you weakling!"
"I'm not a weakling! I will show you how powerful I have become!" Firius glared at the purple cat, his blade ready to clash with her.
"Hey, hey, sore losers. Your opponent is me, remember?" Rayne smiled with a tease.
"Grrr!", "Hrrrr!" Himeno and Firius shifted their anger and attention to the arrogant Cyber Elf.
Even if Rayne is taking it easy, I won't. Our opponents are a Gladiator and a Gladiatrix after all, so I will have to do everything I can in this fight! I swiped out my second Command Card for this battle and shouted it out loud!
"Activate Skill Card: Unlimited Arrow Force!"
Rayne pointed her bow at the enemies, and a green magical circle manifested. The magical circle then unleashed barrages of energy-based arrows towards the targets!
However, it seems that the enemy Kaisers are ready to counter my attack as well. Ryan immediately pulled one hologram card from his arsenal and shouted it for activation!
"Activate Skill Card: Fury Charge!"
Himeno boosted forward with extraordinary speed, her metal claws deflecting every arrow in front of her. At this rate and speed, it will take her two seconds before she gets close to Rayne!
Nevertheless, Esthesia has her own style and tactics. She swiped one of her Command Cards and shouted: "Activate Skill Card: Garuda Buster!"
Firius charged flames on his buster sword, and then unleashed an air slash that quickly turned into a raging phoenix! The phoenix burned the energy arrows as it surged forward! At this rate, the Garuda Buster will take two seconds to reach Rayne!
These two attacks are foolproof. There is no way to escape for Rayne.
Or so we thought.
In an instant, Firius' phoenix collided with Himeno who was charging towards the stream of arrows!
