Heyyyy, I'm alive yes. Thank goodness. I barely have time to catch my breath 😭 but I promise to update as much as I can surely... so here is the next part~
Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, and eventually, years passed like a strong wind.
Asha stared blankly at the view from the balcony of the hostel. How busy she had been till now, even she has no idea. The fact that she is in her 3rd year of college now feels like a lie to her, and so many things happened during that time that she still has a hard time processing and accepting them. She had her room changed, and her roommates were like a blessing to her. The 2nd year of the college was almost absolute trash if not for her friends helping her keep her sanity, she would've committed mass murder at that point, now 3rd year is weird and tiring to even explain it in words, and oh! How can she forget her ex-roommate leaving the hostel? That's an absolute blessing since she doesn't have to see her face in the hostel now, but she's still a pain the ass, no joke, and the last thing that actually remained unchanged was her sleepiness. When was the last time she actually had a good night's sleep? No clue.
Anyways, as she mentioned before, 3rd year is weird beyond words. The only fortunate thing is that the CC (Course Coordinator) of their department has been changed, and the person is far better than the
previous CC, in simple words, the salvation of the Fashion Design department has finally arrived to save them. It might look like exaggerating, but she isn't joking about this one for sure. Asha sighs and continues her design in her laptop. The fact that this year, she has to make four different collections for 3 different subjects, which have her mind at the edge of the cliff. 2 collections from 1 subject, one of menswear, which is just completed and one of the kids wear, which she has yet to start, and the worst thing is this one is the group project, and BY DEFAULT her ex-roommate is in the same group as her. She wanted to cry on the spot when she discovered that 'What kind of sin had I committed in my past life to go through this bullshit?' was the very first thought of her, but it was too late to object and other groups were full as well, so she could only smile slightly and nod her head in acknowledgment. One thing that she became sure about as time passed is that her immunity has half given up on her, with the fact the symptoms are so obvious to even others is something she didn't wished for because it has become annoying with their constant poking, it’s not even nagging at this point, and it exhaust her to no end. 'Like, for god’s sake, leave me alone!' is the first thing she wants to scream at them but of course she can't since it's not only her friends but her relatives also saying the same thing which makes it more stressful for her, and at this point, she stopped caring about her weight because she's doing all she can to take care of herself. If her body isn't showing any change, then she can't do anything about it, sorry.
Asha looks up from her laptop at one of her roommates, who is getting ready for fresher’s party with her friend. It was only for 1st years, 2nd years, and the council members, not like she didn't expect this anyway. It's already an hour late when will they go to college? ".... aren’t you both late?" she asked. Sakshi, her roommate, replied, " They always start late, so its ok." Asha smirk "well of course, you both are fashionably late anyways so I'm not complaining. You both are rocking the look. This theme suits you. I have to admit, " The theme they got is 70s era fashion." Asha was actually surprised when she got to know about this but is happy that there won't be any vulgar dressing up. Thank goodness. There already was a big issue regarding the girl's dressing sense, the principal almost suspended all the CRs at once, my other roommate Devu is the CR of 3rd year Textile Design, she was trembling while explaining what happened, Asha was so worried that she lost her appetite that day. The cause of the problem was 2 students of 3rd year FD department, but the outfits of all the first year students had sent all the faculties, especially the principal in rage. Asha still shudders about that memory. Sakshi grin "Thank you! We are leaving now, see you later!!" Her friend waved goodbye to her."Enjoy!" Asha said as they left. And she was left alone in her room, Devu is at her friend's room as usual, Asha mostly stays alone in her room, and she doesn't really mind it. She sighs again. "Back to work" and start typing again.
It was quite peaceful for a long time, Asha finished the majority of her assignments, even though she was
impressed and relieved. By the time she started stretching her sore limbs, Devu entered the room. They both greeted each other with a silent gaze that lingered for a few moments before she went back to mind her own business. No, they did get into an argument or some sort, it’s been like this because of the assignments, and Devu is particularly having a hard time since she was on medical leave, so Asha respected the fact that she needs some peace, no talking, and whatsoever. Devu does feel guilty, thinking she's ignoring Asha; though the said person always comforts her saying she understands her behavior, especially in the situation she's in, and she does. Instead, Asha is the one feeling bad that she can't help in any way due to her own pending assignments and backlogs.Sigh.
Time flew by, and the 1st and 2nd years returned. Asha was puzzled when she saw them after checking the time, even Devu was surprised. It's only 8 in the evening, how in the world their freshers ended so soon? During the time when Asha was in the first year, her freshers ended at 9:30 to 10 at max and the following year, freshers held at the banquet hall and because the date of college's 25th anniversary and freshers coincided, so the celebration went on for 3 days. It was a blast. But this year, it feels... too plain, even Sakshi was disappointed. Looks like the new principal is stricter than they thought, Asha shrugged, not her problem. She doesn't want to deal with the new principal anyways. Anyways, Asha groans when she hears loud cheers, "....and it has started," Sakshi giggle a bit at my comment, knowing it can't be helped. And if that's not enough, the practice of Dhol Pathak started, which happens right in front of the hostel, Asha almost banged her head on the wall due to frustration.
She really needs black coffee to deal with this bullshit.
Time skips after the dinner and the juniors to finally come down from their high. Thank goodness. Now Asha was just walking around the corridor after dinner as usual when she got a call from one of her friends, Sakshi. In the friend’s circle of Asha, there are in total 3 Sakshi’s. One is her roommate, the other is in the same year and specialization as me but different batch and other is the one who is calling her right now, Asha, and her are in the same batch. It’s a pure headache, and because of this, she sometimes ends up calling them by their last names, especially when they are together because it gets very confusing for them, too. Asha came near the railing to get a breather before picking up the call.
"Speak"
"Did you finish with the collection and the embroidery? The submission is today. "
There was a small pause. ".... hold on a minute. " Asha checks the app and sees that indeed the submission due is today "fuck..." she unintentionally cursed because she did not check the recent updates.
Sakshi heard her and laugh "You forgot too?"
"Too...? Wait- oh my gosh" Asha laughed, looks like she's not alone in this one.
"I randomly checked and saw the submission date and not only us, many discovered at this hour only."
Asha laughed in vain "Good thing tomorrow’s Sunday, I can pull all-nighter"
"Same, I'm only half done,"
"....at least you are half done,"
"Aww, come on, you'll be able to finish it too, don't be like that,"
Asha smile "Well if you say so. Let’s talk tomorrow then, we have things to do now, "
"Yes~ good luck! See ya tomorrow. "
"Same to you,"
Asha hangs up and sighs heavily. "Time to make some tea, definitely needed for this one," She returned
to her room and made a cup of tea for herself before turning on her laptop and connecting her
phone to it and start working, and that's how Asha's (another) night went without a wink of sleep (as
usual).Done~
I hope you enjoy. My life bring a whirlwind I can't do anything about lmfao but anyways~
Have a nice day/night y'all!
