The doctor says we have to get baby out as soon as possible. There is a knot in the umbilical cord. Baby is pressing on it and oxygen is possibly compromised.
LoLo is worried as fucc by the look on her face.
I say i want my wife and baby safe as possible.... I kiss LoLo it's okay baby.
They whisk her in for an emergency c section. I can't be in the room with her...
I'm waiting forever to hear my baby cry or see LoLo's smiling face.
The doors finally open the nurse escorted me back. Through the glass, the room is full of doctors... the machines are humming quietly over LoLo.
I have to put on my sterile gown, booties and bonnet.
The nurses bring me in. The doctors are in a thick hub over the tiny bed and machine in the corner with a rainbow 🌈 on the screen.
This wasn't what i had pictured after having a baby.
No one was smiling or congratulating us.
I look over at LoLo. The anesthesia had her down for the count.
The doctors turn around.
Mr. Asghedom Lolo had a very rough delivery. Baby's case was more complicated than we thought (3) knots in the cord. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts... baby didn't survive.
My body went numb.... I had dealt with death before and even caused it. This ish... hit different. So fuccin' different.
I finally find my voice does she know?
The doctor nods...
They parted and i finally get a glimpse of my baby that I had created with my wife.
A little boy. 7 pounds 10 ounces 21 inches
He had hella hair like me and thick eyebrows. LoLo's complexion.
