My mind was stuck on that one word.
Forgiving.
How could forgiveness be scary? Doesn't that mean that he is showing signs of not being a monster after all?
I didn't understand what Watt meant.
And he didn't give me a chance to ask him because he left me there standing, approaching Donnor in between their practice.
Oh no...
I pretended to open my notepad, drawing something random.
I stood there for what felt like forever, pretending to be busy with whatever the heck I was writing. A tap on my shoulder made me shut the notepad close.
"Ah yes?"
It was Watt.
"I talked to Donnor. He says he will get to you after the practice."
I drew in a long breath. Don't ask me why.
"Sure!"
"Let's get you back to your room."
"My room?"
"Yes. He will be busy for a while."
He began walking, but I stopped him.
"Can't he just tell you the name? It's nothing special...I don't want to disturb him..."
Watt suppressed an expression with his long lips. I couldn't tell what it was.
"Oh, it's fine Callie. You are not disturbing him."
"But---"
"It's fine. He said it's okay."
"Okay...."
Did he say it's okay!? That's a new one to me.
We soon made it back inside. The rush of warmth soon evaded the crisp coldness my skin felt outside. Watt opened the door to my room.
"I will let you know whenever he is ready."
"Okay..."
With that, he closed the door.
My mind was spiralling out of control.
What if he kills me because of this weird outfit? What if he is in a bad mood? What if he does something to my mother back home?
I buried my head in the pillow.
The bell rang. He was calling me at his place.
I glanced at the clock. It was already 10 pm.
I yawned, knocking on the door. Watt opened it.
I smiled at him, to which he remained neutral as I climbed up the stairs, my heart pumping.
It didn't take me much time to reach the green place. The air felt cold, fresh, and crisp. I stopped for a moment before heading downstairs, letting the air grace my skin. My eyes spun into the distance.
A flash of light appeared deep far in the sea. My eyes narrowed. The flashing stopped.
There was no movement, and because of the dark, I couldn't spot what those lights were.
A ship? Boat? A buoy?
I don't know. I don't care.
I headed downstairs, stealing a glance at the room opposite Donnor. Andrea's door was all shut close.
I went the opposite way, knocking on the closed door to Donnor's place.
While waiting, I rubbed my arms. I had never met him this late. He must be so exhausted. I hope he is not in a bad mood or something.
