This son of a bitch! He knew this was going to happen!I felt anger surge through my stomach, growing into my throat. He had it in his hand like a slice of bacon, about to be put in his mouth.
He turned around at the breathing sound. As soon as his eyes met mine, the lights went off, leaving room for only moonlight coming from the window to the side.
Feeling all shades of anger, frustration, and disgust for this man, I charged towards him like a bull.
"Don't you dare eat that last slice of cheese! You bastard!"
I walked towards him in anger, bumping into his hard rock chest because of darkness, except my back landed back against the counter opposite to him. But I grabbed his shirt in a pull alongside, making him fall with me.
The difference was that he landed on top of me.
"Ow!" I groaned.
What was this man built out of!? Steel!?
I rubbed my head in pain. Vanilla scent floated in the air with a hint of lemon soap.
"Have you lost your damn mind?"
His arms were pinned to my sides, while his face was only a footstep away from me. Our bodies pressed against each other like an ice presser pressing a piece of fragile fabric instead of ice.
My chest heaved up and down into a fume. No...no...don't get angry...
"I...just wanted that last cheese slice.."
In the moonlight, his face appeared even more ethereal. His cold blue eyes had small splashes of honey which I hadn't seen before. The moonlight gloated his strong jawline, making his face appear perfect.
He held something right above my mouth.
"You mean this slice?"
Was he playing dumb?
"Yes, you idiot! You can't eat it! That has to go in the sandwich."
His face got a bit closer to me, making me shift. I couldn't go back. I was leaning against the counter with him on top of me like a metal weigher.
His arms went down.
I felt a sudden pull on the soles of my shoes, so strong that it forced my hips up the counter.
He leaned back, giving me a chance to get up, but stopped before I could get down and leave. He grabbed the sides, locking me in with his arms.
I muttered, staring at his moonlit face driven with darkness.
"What are you---"
I halted as he leaned a bit closer to my face. But his eyes weren't on my face.
"I am hungry Callie."
There it was again. The way he said it made me feel weak and my heart pumped. What was this feel---
I felt an electricity jolt against the outline of stockings. I looked down. His thumb brushed against the outline as he pulled out the cheese slice right in front of my eyes.
"I got to eat it."
His eyes shot up from wherever it was lingering, putting the whole slice against his lips.
I held his hand.
"No! That's going in the sandwich! This is not fair. You set this limit so that I and Andrea end up in trouble! Now you are acting all innocent!"
A slight twinge of movement raced up his cheekbones. The moonlight got dimmer and dimmer.
"Why would I make my party fail? You have got some sheer form of judgment."
