Aidan's pov

I tried to run to Blossom but mother put her hand in the middle of my chest and pushed me back on the ground. My mother's name was Jovie and she has hated me since she met me. I now knew she wasn't my real mother but why was she trying to kill me? I tried to stand back up but Jovie used soul menace and sent an electric wave straight into my stomach. Jovie walked over to my and bent down so she was right in my face. I tried to gasp for breath for all the wind was knocked out of my completely.

"I told you in your dreams, you are powerless to save the ones you care about." Jovie said creepily. "Yes, I am the one who has been giving you those nightmares. I harness the madness inside your mind and create images. They were a warning, if you cross me you will be punished." she continued. "You are probably wondering why I'm doing this. I was getting married to the perfect man, I had the life I always wanted then I was forced to serve Lord Death. I lost everything because I was forced to marry a man I didn't know and I was forced to raise you. You a child I hated. A grim reaper that was never supposed have been born. Your own father hated you so much he sent you away to live with strangers. Even your brother is smart enough to know your worthless that's why he continually argues with you. I was the kishin who murdered Charles. Now I'm here to rid the world of what should never have been put on it but first I'm going to let you watch your loved ones die a slow and painful death." Jovie smiled slyly.

Jovie kicked me in my ribs sending me back into the tree and creating a large banging sound. I yelped in agony. Jovie walked over to Blossom and took out a small knife, she held it up to Blossom's neck. "No!" I barley breathed out as I stretched out my arm in a feeble attempt to save her. As Jovie was about to cut through Blossom's neck Kid burst through the bushes with guns in hand. When he saw me on the floor with splats of blood on my body he became enraged. He glared at Jovie and began to shoot immediately, Jovie sprinted away trying to dodge each bullet but not entirely succeeding, Alex also dropped Blossom to the ground and ran. Kid came to me and kneeled down next to me with concern in his eyes.

"Aidan, are you okay?" Kid asked worried.

"I'm fine." I replied with a hoarse voice but when I tried to sit up my arms crumpled beneath me and I fell back to the ground. Kid reached out his hands to help me. He picked me up bridle style while Liz and Patty helped Blossom. Kid walked through the forest towards the school infirmary but before we arrived I lost consciousness in Kid's arms.
