What's this sweet taste? I hate it. It won't leave my mouth. Oh there's some candy! A trail of sweets. I HATE ᎦሥӘӘ七Ꭶ.
Rule: Don't follow the trail.
Cody Anderson, the kind, naive camper with a sweet tooth to boot. He was out going and talkative with everyone, occasionally flirting with a few of the girls here and there, but making the most of his time at camp.
After challenges, Cody, much like the other contestants would return to his lodge and wait for the ceremony. Lately he had been finding a pile of candy on his bed when returning. He wasn't complaining but he was confused on why it was happening.
Cody had started asking the other contestants if anything had been showing up for them, or if they had lost anything, feeling bad if he had been eating someone else's stash, but no one mentioned anything. This made him feel weird, but he let it slide. It was free candy after all.
Cody had strapped on his deer outfit for paintball, laughing at the ridiculous costume Chris had made the prey wear, then darted off into the forest. He was determined to hide and last to hopefully win for his team.
Moving bush to bush, Cody had noticed something strange, more strange than the normal day at camp. He looked around before standing up and inspecting his findings.
It was a small trail of nicely wrapped and laid out candies. His favorite candies in fact. He was confused and looked around once again before slowly following the trail. He kept his eyes on the path he had taken as he picked up the candies while following the trail.
Eventually the trail ended in a small clearing and Cody looked around confused yet again. Concerned at the distance the trail took him away from camp and confused on who would do this.
Cody bent down to pick up the last candy, but was hoisted into the air, his arms and legs tightly trapped in a rope as we swung upside down. He looked around alarmed and started screaming for help.
A bush nearby had started rustling and a talk, darkened figure emerged from its leafy disguise. The figure laughed darkly as it took small taunting steps towards Cody, tsking and waggling its pointer finger in disappointment.
"Dear Cody, haven't you heard, you never take candy from strangers." The figure said, now standing in front of the shaking teen. It softly ran its fingers along the tight rope, smiling beneath its mask.
Cody began pleading in begging, his body shaking as tears gathered in the corner of his eyes. "O-Okay Chris you can stop this joke now, it's not funny anymore!"
"Joke? You think this is a joke? You willingly took from me, so now I will take from you." Cody looked at the figure questioningly before noticing the wooden bat in its hands. He started pleading more as the figure wound its arm and struck Cody in the head.
Cody, groaned in pain, his vision blurred as he started screaming for help again, until the bat connected with his face and he lost his consciousness. The figure continued with a few more swings before untying the teen and dragging him to his shed, just a few feet away from this incident.
The figure took its time removing the deer set Cody had been giving, chuckling at catching it's prey. It then cut open Cody's stomach, removing his insides and replacing it with the precious candies Cody had been collecting and saving. The figure cut along Cody's throat, removing his vocal cords and once again replacing it with candy.
The figure sewed the cuts up nice and tight, finishing Cody's new job by placing some smaller candies in his mouth and sewing it shut as well. While the competition was still going on, the figure had drug Cody's body back to camp, slowly entering the kitchen/lunchroom area.
The figure stood on a table and tightly fastened a new rope to the beams on the ceiling, taking Cody's arms and legs and attaching them to the other end of the rope. The figure left a bat and a note on the table next to his masterpiece, sinking into the bushes and returning to watching from afar.
Beth had entered the kitchen to retrieve a bag of chips for Heather, mumbling and groaning the enter time. As soon as she retrieved the treat for Heather, she entered the lunch room, her eyes widening as she dropped the chips and screamed running out.
The other contestants ran towards camp upon hearing her shrill screams. The campers, confused went to ask her was as wrong as she cried curling into a ball. Chef and Chris noticing the open door to the kitchen went inside and came out, puking and crying.
The other contestants fulling confused started walking towards the door, despite the cries and deposition of Beth, Chef, and Chris. Their eyes widen as they had seen what had caused all of this distress.
Cody who had been hung up for all to see had his eyes open towards the door, a pool of blood underneath his swinging form, and candy spilling from his torn up mouth. He watched them, their eyes filled with fear as he smiled softly, "Don't follow the trail." He gagged out as they screamed running out of the room.
