"P'Phayu, your mate, Cela, was chosen for you when you were children?" Rain asks. The two of them are lying in bed with Rain's head resting on P'Phayu's shoulder. They will have to get up soon and meet with Pai and Sky but for now Phayu is content to lay like this and Rain seems to be as well.
"Mmmm,' Phayu confirms, wondering where Rain is going with this.
"You are the crown prince, weren't you expected to produce an heir?" Rain asks.
Phayu frowns trying to figure out his cute boy's logic. What does his marriage to Cela have to do with not having children?
"Of course, Cela and I would have had children. Just like you and I will have children when we are ready." Phayu says.
Rain sits up looking shocked and suddenly Phayu gets a flash of what he is thinking. Rain is much better about controlling his thoughts but in his shock he had momentarily slipped. Phayu had forgotten certain aspects about earth culture and procreation. Phayu wants to laugh at what Rain is thinking, his boy could be so silly sometimes. He will have to get Rain to explain to him later what an omegaverse and fanfiction is.
Right now, Phayu is not about to pass up a perfect teasing opportunity, Phayu lays a hand across Rain's abdomen and says, thoughtfully, "or maybe already..." letting the thought trail off.
Rain's eyes grow big and round at this. "You don't mean that I could be," he lowers his voice even though they are alone in the room, "pregnant."
Phayu shrugs, biting back the laughter at the horror on Rain's face. He puts on his saddest, cutest expression and sulks, "Don't you want to have my children?"
Rain looks at Phayu and crosses his arms sulkily. This time Phayu can't keep from barking out a laugh.
"It's not funny," Rain says, "I thought I was going to have a baby. I was really worried until Sky told me babies on your planet are made in gestation centers from the DNA of both parents regardless of gender."
"I'm sorry, Rain," Phayu says, his lips still twitching showing he really isn't sorry. "I shouldn't have teased you like that but you're so cute I couldn't help it."
Rain softens at being called cute and gives Phayu one of his sweet bunny smiles.
"P'Phayu, Rain come look at the monitor," Sky calls. "We are close enough to make out Salinifi clearly now."
Rain can't help but gasp at the sight, he has seen pictures, but they don't do the planet justice. The side of the planet they can see from this position consists of seven large continents separated by bright turquoise water. The middle four continents are slightly pinkish in color which Rain knows is their vegetation, both trees and grass. P'Phayu had explained that this effect was the same as what caused the chlorophyll pigment on earth that gave plants their standard green look.
The two top continents and the lowest one are white with what Rain knew was snow, the continents were near the planet's polar caps.
The bottom of one of the snowy continents at the top has what looks like a flowing red ribbon with black edges running near its coast. It looks stunning against the snow. Sky tells him that this is a river of lava that flows to the ocean and has been constantly fed by an underground volcano for over a thousand years. Rain pulls his gaze away from this stunning sight and looks at the middle continents. These four are the only inhabitable continents on the entire planet and is where Salinifi's entire population lives.
"The big one in the center is Alfrani?" Rain asks.
"Mmmhmm," P'Phayu confirms, he points a finger to the bottom part of the continent. "Tsendra City is just about there."
