1 - Two Weeks

Two weeks.

Two weeks of worried neighbors, news reports, and volunteers scouting out the woods.

Two weeks of a desperate brother doing all he could to find his sister and bring her back home safely.

Michael was on the phone with yet another officer, answering all their questions like: when was the last time you saw your sister or do you have any reason to suspect she ran away?

It was always the same answers. I saw her Monday morning. Tuesday morning was when there was no trace of her. No, Stacey enjoyed her life here with her family and friends.

Stacey suddenly disappeared one day to never be heard from again. But...she wasn't the first. There was a sudden surge of unexplained disappearances in Seattle.

There was no pattern. Nothing to warn people to stay alert. Everyone had to be alert. Because all of the missing individuals ranged from race, sex, and age. There were no similar traits amongst the victims. And none of them have been found. Michael was terrified his sister would be among those never to be heard of again.

Michael was at a breaking point. He was distressed, anxious, and worried about his sister. He wasn't getting the proper sleep or food. That's how he ended up in the middle of the woods with only a flashlight and his phone that didn't have reception.

"Stacey!" He would call out every minute as he kept walking and walking.

He sighed out when he stopped, looking around the dark woods before checking the time on his phone. His eyes widened when he saw it was 11:42 P.M. He lost track of time...

He turned around in an attempt to walk back to where he parked his car on the side of the street that led to the woods, but he soon realized he utterly messed up.

Michael was walking for a total of three hours in the dark and he didn't think to track where he had came from. He sighed out when he realized he was lost.

He knew he could find his way back during the day, but it was going to be impossible to do so in the night. His flashlight really only helped with seeing what was right in front of him due to how dark it was out there.

He wasn't usually this careless, but his mind had been a mess ever since Stacey went missing.

"Stacey...! Please...come home..." He said in distraught, slowly sinking onto the ground as the tears started to come down.

All Michael could do was lay on the ground and let the darkness completely overwhelm him.
