Hey people :) First off, I am so sorry for posting 7 months too late >.<
"I refuse to call a firebender my daughter"

No.. not again. I tried to block the memories, but they came, like always with incredibly strong pain.

I didn't notice how the tears started dwelling up inside my closed eyes. The memories always come back. Every night. There is no way of stopping them.

And with memories comes the pain. I just noticed that I was crying. Well, in fact, I have been crying for the last ten years. Every evening. No exeptions. There is no way of stopping these late night thoughts.

The tears were still streaming down my face. I sighed, and wiped them away. It was an autumn night, with a beautiful starry sky. I stood up, and silently, without waking anyone up, went out of the sleeping hall.

In my orphanage, we had two sleeping halls, one for boys and one for girls. It was a small orphanage and everyone new each other. Of course. I mean, we're stuck in here together.

I never understood, how a strict woman and a bunch of kids from the streets can replace family.

After walking through a few corridors, I arrived at the balcony. I opened the door that lead there and slipped outside. Once outside, I hold on to the roof tiles and climbed up.

I always came here, when I couldn't sleep. On this roof, no one ever searched for me. Of course not. It was in the middle of the night. I was alone. Not that it was something extraordinary.

I was always alone.

I don't blame all the kids at the orphanage. I mean, who would want to be friends with a girl, whose left hand is burned?

And with burned I don't mean slightly burned. I mean really burned, with permanent scars. Permanent. A reminder. The scars are just a reminder. A reminder of the day I didn't do anything.

I sat there on the roof for a long time, thinking about what would have happened if my dad wouldn't have found out I'm a fire-bender.
