I always wondered what feelings are. Just experiences? Or maybe something not from this world, decided by faith. I still don't understand. Are our actions born from emotions or are emotions side effects of actions? In this moment, when everything turned red because of the fire, I just felt two emotions. Love and anger. Somewhere I heard Asami scream and the men laugh, but it sounded dull, as if they would be behind a window. Inside of me was a terrible battle, the battle between the love for my mother, now dead and the anger, because she was. I still don't know what emotion won. It all just turned into a big, fiery clump in my chest and I screamed. That's the thing about emotions. You can't control them. They come when they want to and they are the ones who control you're actions and in the end you understand, what little amount of control you have left. I saw everything turn red, then I looked at Asami, whose beautiful face was full of shock and then, screaming, I ran in front of her, holding my left hand out, as if I could stop the flame. For one second, I felt heat and pain, then the clump inside of me exploded and everything turned black.

"Asami, are you sure your sister firebended?" I heard my dad say, his voice full of pain.

Asami, sobbing, answered: "How many times do I have to tell you? She saved us both!"

I tried to sit up, but sudden pain stopped me. I had a terrible headache and my left hand hurt.

"Look, she's awake!" Asami said.

I opened my eyes. It looked like I was in a Hospital. I moaned. My father and sister were standing by my bed, but only Asami seemed worried. Dad looked furious.

"You're one of them, aren't you?!" he said, dangerously calm "You're a fire bender... You're one of the murderers!!!" His whispering turned into shouting.

"Daddy?" Asami was shocked "It's not her fau-"

"SILENCE!!!" My dad shouted, tears now streaming down his face. He turned to me: "You killed my wife! Your own MOTHER!!!"

"But daddy, I didn't do anything!"

Dad looked at me, his eyes full of hatred: "Exactly. You didn't di anything. You could have stopped them. You could have saved her!!!"

A few moments passed and my dad, breathing furiously, looked at me: "You know what? I don't want filthy benders in my family."

"What... are you talking about?" I asked, still not quite understanding what dad was trying to tell me.

Dad sighed, and looked into my eyes: "I already called an orphanage nearby. You're... I refuse to call a fire bender my daughter."
