I entered a sparely furnished room. So that's it. My future classroom for the next few years. I looked around for a place to sit. The only free seat was next to a girl with a book and glasses. "U-uhm... Can I sit here?" I asked.

"Sure." The girl smiled at me. "By the way my name is Hikari. What's your name?"

"My name's Akane." I smiled back.

I could be friends with her, right? For a moment there, I imagined hanging out with her. Asami often invited friends over to our house, but I always hid in the attic, which was like an own world to me. No one ever went up there and I could draw and read as much as I'd like, without being interrupted. While I was still in my thoughts, my teacher came in.

"Good morning students, I'm your teacher Ms. Azema. I hope you will give your best at this school and that you will behave properly."

"Good morning Ms. Azema." the class answered.

"So how was your first day?" Asami asked.

We were on our way home.

"It was alright." I answered.

Asami smiled at me: "No bullies?"

"No bullies." I smiled back. We were almost home. I could already see our white walls and the sign which said: The Sato-workshop.

"Wait, did you hear that?" Asami asked.

"No, what was it?" I answered.

"I think I heard mom scream..." Asami said.

"A-are you sure?" I said, slightly worried.

We hurried inside and found that the living room was a complete mess. A lot of things were on fire. And in the middle of it we saw about five men. And behind them...

"MOMMY!!!" I screamed.

She was lying on the floor, blood dripping from her head. Asami stood there in shock, tears streaming down her pretty face. I didn't realise, but I was crying too. The men turned around.

"What should we do with the kids?" asked a slightly fat man. "We have the money and we can't have any more witnesses" answered the tallest of the five men.  Asami defensively put her arm around me. One of the man went into fire bending stances and shot a fire beam at us.
