The Dance That Started It All!

A/N-Hey everybody! Reeve here! This is my very first fanfic so please don't be too harsh on how it turns out or on my grammar, punctuation, etc. I got the idea of this fic 2 days ago when I was listening to the song "A Potion For Love By AURORA" For some reason I imagined a story like this one your about to read, As I was listening to the gorgeous song. The story isn't inspired by the lyrics... I just somehow imagined this in my head from the sound of the song. (Yeah I know I've got a weird imagination lol) Anyways here's the story!....

*Third Person POV*
You were a nurse that usually worked alongside the Chief Medical Officer of the Enterprise. Dr. Leonard McCoy was his name. Ever since you started working with him you've always had feelings for him. Despite his grumpiness/sarcasm he has towards basically everybody all the time... you still had feelings for him. But that's because he treated you completely differently from everybody else on the enterprise. He secretly held a special place just for you in his heart, just like you did for him. Kirk one day noticed how differently Leonard treats you from all the rest aboard the Enterprise, and he noticed all the little smiles and glances exchanged by the both of you, and how happy and kind Leonard always is around you... Which made Kirk secretly become aware of the feelings shared between you and Leonard that nobody knew about. Not even you or Leonard was aware enough to notice the feelings shared between you two!

Because you were unaware of the strong feelings Leonard secretly had for you, you were always very insecure and doubtful about him ever feeling the same about you. So you'd usually try to ignore the feelings you had for Leonard and would go out with other men, even though Leonard was the one you truly loved, you were just too doubtful and insecure about him ever loving you. But whenever you were working with him, it was usually impossible to try and ignore those feelings you had, because one smile or kind remark from him was enough to fluster you and make your day!

The Enterprise had a special dance planned for everybody aboard the enterprise. You were asked to the dance by a guy named Jayden. You saw him the odd time in the mess hall when you ate your lunch, and you've always kind of thought he was cute and had wanted to go out with him for a while. Until just a few days ago he asked you out to the dance!

*Time Skip*

*Your POV*
It was an hour before the dance. You were getting yourself all dolled up in your quarters. You wore subtle make up and a simple, elegant, and pretty dress. Now you just had to curl your hair. You were very nervous for the dance.

"What if Jayden is a total Jerk and isn't what I thought he'd be like?" You thought to yourself. "What if he acts all nice at first, but he turns out to be terrible and abusive? And then I'm sucked into a terrible relationship that I can't get out of! And I'll never be able to ever be with Leonard because I'm trapped in an abusive relationship that I can't get out of!?" Your negative thoughts kept flooding your mind.

"No! No! It's not gonna be that way! He was kind and he asked me out and was a total gentleman about it too! Leonard has never asked me out which means he doesn't care and that I'll never end up with him. Jayden actually asked me out! I'm sure he's the one for me rather than Leonard, because he wants to go out with me and wants to take me to the dance!" You quietly reassured yourself in the mirror as you curled your hair. "It's gonna go well Y/N. I just know it!" You confidently confirmed to yourself.

*Bones' POV*
"Should I go to the dance tonight? Y/N seemed really excited and happy to be going there tonight when she was talking about it to me at work today. But I don't like dances. And the only reason I'd go is to make her happy." Bones thought to himself. "Yes, I should go! She even asked me if I was gonna go, and she seemed eager for me to go to it. I will go to it to see her and because she wanted me to go real bad!" Decided Bones.
