A/N-Hey guys! Reeve here! I got this super cringey and weird idea for a story when I was listening to Perry Como and the song,"They Long To Be Close To You" came on, and I got this really dorky idea and thought I should make a fic about it even tho it's super dorky and cringey lol

You and Bones have been engaged for 3 months now, and were going to get married sometime in the future when things weren't so busy on the Enterprise.

You got off work early today and came by Bones' office to hangout with him/tease him as he was working. You always loved teasing him because you could tell he always secretly enjoys it, because he tends to have a cute smirk/smile on his face when you tease him.

You walked into sickbay in search for your fiancé. You found him sitting at his desk looking down at something.

"Hey, hun! Whatcha up to?" You asked Bones.

"Hey Y/N! I'm filling out some paperwork. There's a whole stack here, so I don't know when I'll be done." Bones smiled at the sight of you, but was annoyed he had paperwork to do instead of being able to hangout with you. "You don't have to wait here for me if you don't want to, Darlin'. You can go do something else to keep yourself busy and help pass the time." Bones suggested.

"Nah, I'd like to stay here with you, My handsome and perfect fiancé!" You smirked, walking up to Bones and hugging him. He hugged you back, and as you two pulled away from the hug you placed a kiss on his cheek.

"Hey, how 'bout you sit here with me Darlin'? That way you can have a nap if you want, and you'll still be near me!" Bones smiled, suggesting you should sit in the chair with him.

"Sure, I'd love that!" You admitted. You climbed into the chair with him, sitting on his lap, and draping your legs over the arm of the chair. You rested your head on his chest, listening to his heart beat. You two were silent for a couple of minutes. Bones doing paperwork, and you enjoying your fiancé's embrace.

Even though you knew he was busy with his work, and he couldn't really talk much because he was busy and focused on his work, you still broke the silence by beginning to sing while stroking Bones' hair...

Bones was blushing hard and secretly smiling. "Darlin'? I don't want to sound mean or anything, but I really need to focus on this paperwork. Which your adorable singing is distracting me from my work. It's so hard not to focus on my work because you're so cute, and I feel like you really mean the words your singing, which makes it even harder for me to focus and to not smile and blush." Bones admitted.

"I do really mean the words I'm singing! That song always comes to my mind whenever I'm around you, which you look extra handsome today, so I had to sing the song to you. Plus I'm really bored and wish you were done already!" You smiled.

"I'd be done work by now if you weren't distracting me with your cuteness!" Bones laughed.

"I'll finish the song I was singing to you, and then you can continue working." You smirked.

"Fine!" Bones huffed, and then laughed. Slightly annoyed that he couldn't finish his work, but you knew he secretly loved you bugging him like that because he secretly found it really cute.

Wah, close to you" you finished singing. You kissed him on the cheek, still stroking his hair, like you were as you were singing to him. Then you leaned your head into his chest and fell asleep. You woke up to Bones kissing you on the forehead and him telling you he's done work. You were happy he was finally done! Bones carried you back to your quarters bridal style, and you both hung out for the rest of the evening!

A/N-That was soooo cringey! I don't know how I thought of something so cringey from a good song 😂 anyways I hope you guys liked this crappy story even tho I didn't lol 😂 Let me know what y'all think of this cringey story!
