Trigger Warnings : arguments, talks of murder, mention of undefined relationship between a minor and an adult.
"Uhm, so, what's going on with the tension ?"
Jisung looks between Chan and Changbin, both avoiding the others.
"Nothing," they reply at the same time.
Jisung sighs and rubs his temples, "Okay well, I wanted to spend a good week-end with both of you, but I guess it's not gonna happen," he looks at them pointedly then glances at Hyunjin who's frowning down at his plate.
"Everything's fine," Chan tells him with a small smile that looks too fake. Jisung doesn't point it out. "So, how's been—"
Hyunjin abruptly stands up, stares at Changbin across the table with frowned eyebrows, "We need to talk."
Changbin puts down his chopsticks, "There's nothing to talk about—"
"I thought all those years would've made you change," Hyunjin speaks bitterly, "but you're still the same hypocrite."
Jisung looks around with wide panicked eyes, "Wha—"
"Minho hyung did this to protect us—"
"He killed my best friend," Changbin hisses with wrath, jaw clenched, glaring at his friend.
Chan quickly puts a hand on his shoulder, "Binie, calm down please—"
Changbin shoves his hand away and stands up, levels Hyunjin with bitterness, "What would you have done if I had killed Felix ?"
"What the fuck is happening ?" Jisung whisper yells to Chan.
Chan grimaces, "It's complicated."
"I can tell !"
Hyunjin scoffs, "You'd never do that, there's no point thinking of another version of the situation."
"Yes there is, because you can't seem to understand he was my best friend."
Hyunjin softens a bit, but his gaze is grave, "You have to accept it hyung, your best friend was an asshole and you can't change that."
"Please both of you," Chan pleads, "you need to calm down, Jisungie is right here."
Jisung blinks at the call of his name, "Uhm, yeah I'm here," he stiffens when both men look at him.
Hyunjin sighs, falters, "And beside Minho hyung didn't know he was your friend, he just wanted to protect us."
Changbin doesn't answer, he stares at a blank point, shoulders slumping tiredly.
"I don't know what you did with your friend back then, I don't know how important he was to you, but Minho hyung is family." He tells him with glossy eyes, a sense of desperation sticking to his words.
The older mechanic clenches his jaw and fists.
"I'm not hungry anymore."
"Changbin hyung—"
Chan lifts a hand to stop Hyunjin, "Don't, he needs some time alone," he looks at Changbin wearing his shoes before leaving the flat silently.
Hyunjin sighs as he slumps back on the chair, elbows on the table, and rubs his face tiredly.
"Sorry but the guy you've been talking about, are you sure he was just a friend for Bin hyung ?"
Both Chan and Hyunjin look at Jisung who's still weary about the whole situation.
