Ninj arrived shortly after I had made myself a hot cup of tea and a half jam- half chocolate toast.
"Ninj..." I say with a worried look on my face.
"Hmm?"
"Do you think this is safe?"
"What is safe?"
"Them! Coming over."
"Oh, Betzy and Harrison. What the hell is Harrison the pussy gonna do? Throw a spliff at you?"
"Not worried about Harrison, you idiot! It's the other one that gives me the creeps." What can a guy, who I had never seen before our first encounter today, have to do with me?
"Look, if you're getting too over-the-top-worried about this whole thing, then let's just invite Jasmin and Lee over, as well? That way, if anything goes wrong then it'll be four against two." Why was everything so normal for Ninj? Is it because she's like the most weirdest creature living, and so finds everything else around her normal?
"But what the hell am I gonna say to them when they ask me why Harrison and some random bloke are in my house?" I asked, feeling my eyes go wide in the thought of what to actually say to Jasmin and her boyfriend.
"That's the least of your worries, stupid. Don't worry about it. Now shut up and let me read my Girl magazine, in peace."
Finally reassuring myself that it's all going to go fine, I went and got myself dressed up. Just a little.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
Oh shit! They're here! Betzy and Harrison! I could already feel my pulse speeding up and I haven't even opened the door yet. Having a final glance at my reflection in the mirror (which was definitely not very attractive), I ran along the hallway and then down the stairs. Almost tripping on my dad's shoes, I managed to grab the keys, shove it into the keyhole, turn it, and slowly open the door.
Wow. All that energy wasted for nothing. It was Jasmin and Lee.
"Bitch, are you gonna move out the way, or what?" Jasmin screwed at me. Definitely has to be PMS. That's one thing i'll never understand; why some girls get so moody during their time of the month. The only girls who I know of that aren't affected by PMS are myself and Ninj.
By Jasmin, stood her boyfriend, Lee, holding a plastic bag in his hand.
"Come in, guys." I say, inviting them into the house by making space for them to get through the hallway.
"Are they here yet?" Jasmin asked.
"Who?"
"Your ex and your future."
"What?! No, shut up! What on earth gave you that idea?"
"Ninj said you totally love him."
"And tell me a time when Ninj hasn't bullshitted?"
"The time whe-"
"Get lost!"
"Am I seriously gonna have to spend my Friday afternoon with you three girls who are always at eachother's necks?" Lee broke into the conversation.
I gave him a look that was somewhat in between 'sorry' and 'do one'. Jasmin just blatantly ignored him and sat down on the couch, next to Ninj.
*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*
Everyone in the living room froze.
Okay. So this time it was definitely them.
I walked across the hallway and held the door open. There they stood.
