Persephone was anxiously waiting for Dillion to show up in the cafe. They had already ordered a latte and they were looking at the door. She finally showed up and plopped down in the seat across from them.
"What'd you wanna talk about?" Dillion asked, taking off her overcoat.
"Why did you react to Kit like that at the party?" They asked, and they passed over a piece of pumpkin bread to her. She took a bite.
"Did you see the way he looked?"
"Yes, he looked like Kit. He told us there were gonna be some changes."
"I know, but I didn't think it was going to be like that. Also, what were you thinking, running off alone with him?" She whispered.
"That I was horny and he was hot, and I wanted to make out with him before Vic got there. What is wrong about that?" They asked flatly.
"Everything, dude. You disappeared with him for twenty minutes and came back down."
"So you're doubting my ability to be able to stop him?" They asked.
"No, I just-"
"If you don't trust him anymore just say it."
"No. I don't trust him," Dillion said flatly. "We knew he was a vampire, but the man at the party? That's not the Kit I knew. That was a vampire. He was able to just point at someone and they were entirely under his spell, he wasn't even breaking a sweat. I'm just-" She looked down and sighed. "You're in the apartment alone with him, what if he tries to do the same thing to you? We've only known him for about a week, what do we really know about him at all?" She asked.
"We know that he's Kit. One of the first things he said while you had him frozen in place was 'please'. He was afraid of showers and running water. The other day I made toast, and when it popped, he screamed and jumped onto the ceiling in fear. He encountered a campsite all alone in the woods and what did he come back with, Dillion? Was it blood? No, it was a fucking toasted marshmallow. I showed him old spaghetti westerns and he lit up like the fourth of July," they were starting to steamroll now. "He's a white man from the 18th century who was trapped in a cave for all of the world's biggest advancements, and the first thing he did was try to learn to be non-offensive and politically correct," they said flatly.
"Okay, fine, maybe you're a little right," Dillion took another bite. "I want to have a coven meeting. Bring Kit."
"What are you going to ask him there?" They asked.
"Questions that we put together for him."
"This is bullshit, you can't keep secrets from me," they were a little angry about that one.
"You're emotionally compromised and emotionally involved. We did the same thing with Tara when she fucked that werewolf," Dillion pointed out. Persephone rolled their eyes, she was unfortunately right.
"Fine, what time?"
"Witching hour tonight."
"We'll be there."

Kit was sitting in the now undecorated warehouse, tapping his legs nervously while he waited. Persephone said this was a coven meeting, and they had questions for him, and he only hoped that his answers could, perhaps, salvage the lost trust amongst his only friends. Persephone was forced to sit on the outside of the circle they formed around him, a mildly annoyed look on their face. Kit looked at the coven, moving from tapping his legs to fiddling with his satchel. He wasn't sure if he was meant to speak first, or remain silent until addressed, so he chose to remain silent. Persephone had shown him cop shows now, he knew not speaking was the better option lest he incriminate himself.
