TOLD YOU... STILL WRITING!
MUCH LOVE CHAPS.. xJust to say that this book needs to be seriously edited. My characters are all messed up in my head.
I'm sorry to say that once I do edit it then it's probably going to be completely different.
But I am going to publish this chapter because you have waited so patiently.
I also changed a bit at the end of last chapter. Just a few words :)
...
Spotting a long over coat I wrenched it on and pushed back the sleeves before grabbing my weapon and sprinting towards the sound of uproar. Kicking open the deck door the wind whipped my hair around my face, pushing it to the side, I studied the scene before me...~ Kleio ~
Frantically I searched the deck, no one seemed injured and there was no canon debris or splinted wood. Had I imagined it?
"Prepare yourselves men! Remember the code!" I heard Zaks booming voice. He stood in all his glory under the silver moonlight on the captains deck, but his eyes where hard and menacing. And when he glanced at me it was if they bore into my soul.
The ship gave a violent lurch and I stumbled forward into another man and he swiftly pushed me to the side before running off behind me. Turning slowly, my eyes widened at the large ship next to ours. Wood slapped down as Zaks men put planks between the ships, roaring the whole time. As they marched onto the other ship the noise became unbearable. Swords clashed and men screamed out in pain and fury. It was chaos.
I had never been in a battle before and I thought I would face it like a true Spartan. But right now I just wanted to run below deck. Suddenly, a strong hand grabbed my arm roughly. Crying out, I swung my sword towards my captors head, expecting to make contact with soft flesh I tensed when it made contact with metal.
"Calm down Spartan" Zak growled.
I quickly spun to face him with an open mouth but he covered it with a palm.
I could smell his salty skin and he leaned in towards me. "Don't speak. Just listen. I suggest that you turn yourself around and go back down to your quarters. Bolt the door and stay quiet"
"Nos-miywmont-tmwsfhfute" I mumbled into his palm.
He frowned. "Pardon?"
Pushing his hand away I gave him a pleading look. "I want to help you"
Zak stared at me with hard eyes, he opened his mouth to speak.
"It's you" A rough voice had me frozen as if I were struck by Zeus.
The fool from the markets was staring at me with thoses clear green eyes.
His eyes flickered between Zak and I, blood splattered his leather and his hair was slightly ruffled. I felt my stomach twist uncomfortably. This man looked like a God.
As we stared each other down Zak still had an arm around me which tightened slightly. Cirus rised his sword. "I suggest that you let go of the woman before you loose a hand" he spoke darkly.
"I suggest you piss off before you loose you're head boy" Zak growled back. My mouth dropped open.
"Just release the girl, she doesn't need to be harmed" Cirus began fo move forward slowly.
Zak let out a cold laugh. " I'm an honourable Captain, my guest is safe here" Zak turned his attention on me obviously realising that I was still hidden under his muscular arm like a small bird. He suddenly pushed me towards the lower deck. "Do what I told you Kleio"
"No. I want to-"
"That's an order" His fiery eyes stared me down. It ignited the fight in me, and he saw that.
Turning to Cirus he gave him a bored look. "Give us a minute will you"
"By all means" Cirus mumbled back.
Zak held my head still when he noticed that I was frantically looking at the fight around me. Wondering where to jump in first. "Spartan" he whispered. I looked into his stormy eyes.
"I need you to go back to your quarters. The men fight dirty and your not advanced enough for them. They would cut you down without a single thought. Tomorrow I will train you. Tonight sit this one out" I looked towards Cirus and nodded solemnly. Maybe he was right. Maybe I couldn't fight as well as the other men.
With one last look, I did what I have never done before. I turn and ran from a fight.
Sorry it's short. My story has gotten EXTREMELY off track. I think it all needs to be rewritten.
I have gone into a full time job so im pretty busy. But I will slowly do it. It's going to be a bit of a mess I think, especially if it carries on like this.
Sorry chaps but it needs to be done. If you want something else to read, I have another story called :
There's No Love In War
Give that one a go because I still really enjoy writing that one
Much love chaps.. x
