Now this is something I've wanted to write for a while now. I always wonder what Iron mans politics are, most people might say he's the embodiment of a republican. But I don't see it. What I see is someone who is trying to atone for past mistakes. He's worked with mutants before but also sees them as a potential threat so its not clear what he thinks of the Xmen as a potential threat. But he doesn't seem to hate on anyone for your today republican reasons, and sure he's cocky but thats makes his character loveable. Also at heart he's a scientist. I know, I know he's an engineer but whether that's a scientist is debatable, but I do see engineers as scientists, because another word for their work is applied science. So facter in the fact that scientist are ether left leaning in politics or nether, with a less than 10 percent being republican, then he's likely ether a democrat or an ally.
Sure iron man comics came out around the time that scientists political views were evenly divided, but nowadays iron man would be considered a leftist. And recently in comics he went to Miss Marvels funeral, it doesn't say anything about his politics but it shows he actually cares. He also was really angry when the Assessor kidnapped Miles Morales and did experiments on him. In which he then tried to take him down. Also is older comics he showed disdain toward Trump in the past. And in recent comics he bought every mass destruction weapon he could buy so he could lock them away in the desert which made him not rich and ended up living in the LES, he did end up using some of the less destructive weapons but that's because Feilong a mutant hating industrialist took of his company after stark left it and Stark needed a way to take him down.
Iron man is good character who made many mistakes in his life. So he's not a republican he's just a guy trying to do the right thing. He's never been out right racist or homophobic(at least to my knowledge), like most republicans you hear on the news nowadays. I'm not saying all republicans are bad, but the bad ones seem to be a key part of the demographic, what with the large crowds saying Trump is the real president and that he could do not wrong, when there is so much that he did wrong. Which brings me back to a point I already made. He doesn't like trump in older comics so why would he support him as president.
In conclusion, at least by today's standards he's not a republican, and he's a character with thousands of unknown facts, all we can do is think about what they are. Also he's nothing like Elon Musk. Elon doesn't have the many advanced degrees Tony Stark does. I hate it when people compare Elon to Iron man. Just wanted to say that last part.
