Also in my writing, it may seem that I hate Clary that is because I do. I've read the books and really liked her but in the show, she was just really whiney and her character became unlikeable in my personal opinion. I'd edit her character but a lot of her bad decisions drove the plot.
I know Alec is Gay and I do ship Malec, but I think the great thing about Fanfiction is twisting a fictional world to fulfill your heart's desires. As a Pansexual Black Woman, I understand the importance of representation and understand the harm of erasure. I do not believe writing fanfiction about a gay character does that unless you do it with malicious intent or trying to fix the character. Nothing is wrong with it. I view it as the same thing as writing straight characters gay. While I don't believe straight erasure is a thing I believe it's all in the artistic liberties of fanfiction. However, if we don't share these viewpoints I accept that and ask you not to leave hate but simply do not subject yourself to something you know you won't like.
