Our wedding ceremony passed in a blur. We held it at the little church in Athens and my bride glowed with happiness as she glided toward me alongside Leo. I couldn't stop the tears from filling my eyes, and the photographer took the opportunity to flash his camera at me. Athena was going to love those pictures.
My girl looked like a literal angel. Dressed in a flowing tulle gown and flower crown made of baby's breath; she was breathtaking.
The reception was held at an outdoor venue with the sound of the beach waves in the background. My parents seemed pleased with the results, but it did not matter. I only cared about Athena's opinion.
The speeches went well, and Leo made sure to remind me that he still owned his gun. I'd have to be careful not to give him a reason to pull it out again. My best man, Theo, spent the whole week in Greece teasing Athena's maid of honor but she'd enjoyed ribbing him back. Virginia was, of course, not invited and the Richardsons had kindly declined to attend without their daughter. Good riddance! I did not want Athena to have any reminders of that dreadful woman.
Overall, all the guests were having a blast and enjoying Greece. Well, everyone except for Nico. There was some tension in his marriage and Nina spent most of the trip avoiding Nico. She had a health scare about two months before and seemed withdrawn. Nico was being tender and attentive but she kept pulling away.
I was the happiest man in the world because I could finally call Athena my wife. When we danced our first dance under 'Till the End of Time,' I held Athena close as she cried on my shoulder. My beautiful girl was sentimental. I squeezed her to me as I whispered in her ear, "You're forever mine; till the end of time."
