Detective Samuel sat in an armchair and looked at old photographs of the residence, which represented to him an entrance into the past. But his mind kept returning to the mysterious anonymous letter. He decided to begin his search by visiting the residence itself. The next day, Samuel set out on his way to the residence. When he found himself in front of the gates, he felt a strange atmosphere, as if the walls were emitting whispers of events long past.Detective Samuel Everhart entered the residence's ancient entrance hall. The wooden floors made a faint creak under his steps, the old carpet beneath him absorbing the sounds. The interior spaces were full of mystery, and this place acted as a gateway to the past that Samuel set out to unravel. His steps led to a long corridor where the wall was decorated with mysterious portraits of ancestors. He realized that these old portraits were watching his every move, as if they cared if he would get to the truth that was hidden here. The strange smell of old furniture hung in the air, and the soft breeze carried with it the accent of whispers of the past.Samuel continued walking until he found himself in front of the half-open door of the ancient library. The clay pavement in front of it was scorched and looked as if centuries of visitors had left traces here. He slowly opened the door and went inside. The inside of the library felt almost like a time machine, transporting him to another age. Shelves full of old books rose high, their ancient cases with torn edges testifying to their age. The air was full of earthy scents, and Samuel's gaze took in the various dark and golden hues of the old wood. On one of the shelves lay a series of cryptic diaries with dust-stained covers. Samuel slowly took one of them in his hand and, looking through the pages, he felt a rush of excitement. These diaries were a window into the past, a key to the truth he so passionately sought. The library space seemed to vibrate with an atmosphere of mystery. Samuel felt it was the right place to start his quest for "Mysteries of the Forgotten Residence". In front of him lay the pages that would reveal the origin of the mysterious phenomena and at the same time could provide an important clue as to what happened to the family that once inhabited this building.Samuel began to read the first page of one of the diaries:"Diary No. 3: May 12, 1932Today, an image of a figure we did not recognize appeared in the mirror in the hallway. Her face looked mysterious and her eyes looked at us with inexplicable interest. We shuddered when she suddenly mysteriously disappeared. It's like we met a ghost."Diaries revealed the lives of family members, their joys, worries, but also strange events that plagued them. Each of the diaries brought a new fragment to the puzzle of the past. Samuel discovers that the family has been plagued by a series of unexplained phenomena - they constantly hear whispers in the night, reflections in mirrors and mysterious footsteps that appear and disappear. One of the diaries revealed the love between two family members and their efforts to keep it a secret from others. Another journal contained records of family arguments and tensions stemming from inexplicable events. The more pages Samuel read, the more he tried to understand what was causing these mysterious phenomena and how they were connected to the family's inexplicable disappearance. But he suddenly came across a diary that immediately caught his attention:"Diary No. 7: August 6, 1932Today we discovered an old parchment in a secret compartment under the floor. Maps and inscriptions are recorded on it, showing us the way to the buried treasure. We're constantly thinking about what that means and whether we should start looking."

Finally, Samuel put the journal back on the shelf and looked at his watch. He found that it was getting dark and it was time to leave the residence. As he walked down the hall, he heard a faint rustle, as if something had moved behind him. He turned quickly, but saw nothing unusual, only a whiff of dust rising from the floor.

Feeling the increased attention, he headed out of the residence. He took a deep breath and looked around. There was no one around. He felt as if his presence in the residence disturbed someone. Why, he didn't know. It was just one of those mysterious moments that might not have a clear explanation. When he returned home in the evening, his mind was still full of mysterious entries from old diaries. He was sitting in his living room reading the notes he had been making and trying to put all the pieces of the puzzle together. He thought about how the mysterious phenomena are intertwined with the disappearance of the family and how he can uncover these secrets.Just then he heard a soft sound behind the door. His heart shuddered when he saw a shadow pass under the windows into his apartment. Suddenly the bell rang. Samuel slowly got up and opened the door. He stopped. Before him stood his sister Elizabeth, with a strange smile on her face."Elizabeth!" Samuel exclaimed in surprise. "That's... unexpected. You're back.""Yes, Samuel," Elizabeth said with emphasis on each word. "I need your help. I know you're working on something big. I don't want to burden you, but... I feel like I could be of help."Many emotions mixed in Samuel. He was both shocked that Elizabeth had returned and curious as to what had brought her to town. It was a strange arrival with current events and the secret of the past he was just revealing.
