The school day drags. I make it to lunch and walk out to the edge of the school property and sit under my tree. It is chilly outside but it is much better than sitting inside, watching everyone else eating. At least I was able to eat breakfast this morning.
"This doesn't look like the lunchroom to me."
I look up and see Yoongi leaning against the tree. I turn back around to my drawing and shrug.
"Why aren't you eating?"
"Not hungry."
"Hmm, is that so?" He says and then rubs his hand across his chin as if in deep thought before nodding to himself. "I will make sure that you have money in your account for the rest of the year. How's school?"
"Boring. Since there is only a month left, there isn't really anything left to do. I finished all of my exams already."
"Then why are we hanging around here? Come on, let's go."
I look up at him. "I can't just leave."
"Stay here, I'll be right back."
He walks off towards the school and I return back to my drawing. I hear the bell ring to signal the end of lunch. I gather my stuff and stand, walking towards the school. I only make it a few steps before Yoongi is standing in front of me.
"I signed you out and Joon and I let them know you would be graduating early. Unless you want to go through graduation with the whole cap and gown and all?"
"No, I have no desire for that."
"Then let's get out of here. Although I will say I am sorry I won't see you in this school uniform anymore."
I look at him and he is staring me down with a heated look in his eyes making me blush. We make it to the car, and he opens my door, allowing me to get in before going around to his side. He gets in and starts the car, cranking the heat up.
"I only came to check on you and ensure you were ok. Hobi was supposed to pick you up from school and take you shopping, so I texted him, and we will meet up with him."
"He really doesn't have to do that, you know. You guys don't need to spend money on me."
"You already said that."
"I meant it then, and I mean it now. I am not looking for a handout, and I don't need you to take care of me. I didn't ask for any of this." I say angrily. "You guys should have just left me there with Pam. I don't even have a way to pay you back. What are you guys getting out of this anyway? What's in it for you? I mean, I'm not experienced in things like most teenagers, and I doubt I could even be of any use to you guys as a girl."
I start to panic. He pulls over on the side of the road and puts the car in park. He takes his seatbelt off and gets out of the car. Walking around, he opens my door and gently pulls me out of the car. He takes a seat where I was sitting and pulls me back into the car, onto his lap before closing the door back.
"Amy, take a deep breath."
I am so stunned at his actions that I automatically do as he says.
"Good girl. In. Out. That's it. Calm down for me." Once he sees that I am no longer on the verge of a panic attack, he relaxes under me. "Ok, first things first. We do not expect anything from you."
"Then why are you helping me? No one ever does anything for someone without expecting something in return."
"Amy, listen to me. I know you have had a hard life, but we are unlike everyone else. We have everything we could want, and even if we didn't, we have more than enough money. There is no lack of companionship as well. Plenty of women would jump at the chance, so we don't need to take advantage of a young girl." Ok, that stings a little. Not gonna lie. "One day, we will tell you some of the things that we have endured. But for now, trust me when I say that we only want to help and make sure that you are safe and taken care of."
