Chapter 1: Introduction

"This is berk"

There was a rocky island in the middle of the sea

"It's twelve days north of hopeless and a few degrees south of freezing to death."

There was a village placed upon the small island

"It's located solidly on the meridian of misery."

There were farm animals on the edge of the hills

"My village. In a word, sturdy. It's been here for seven generations, but every single building is new."

"We have fishing, hunting and a charming view of the sunsets"

Sheep were eating the grass, quite unhappy

"The only problem are the pests."

Suddenly, a sheep was snatched away by an unknown creature

"You see, most places have mice or mosquitoes."

There were two teenagers, a boy and a girl. They opened the door to see chaos outside.

"We have..."

Large creatures with wings were attacking the village, taking away the animals

One then turned around and saw the two

It began to breath fire as the twins quickly closed the door and held it in place, hoping not to burn to death at that moment

"....dragons"

Vikings began fighting off and yelling at the creatures, defending their animals

"Most people would leave."

One man jumped up and grabbed a dragon's leg as another was hitting its face

"Not us. We're vikings. We have stubbornness issues."

The two siblings from earlier were running out of the burning building

"My name is Hiccup, and that's my twin sister (Y/n)!"

A blade was about to land on Hiccup, but (y/n) pulled him out the way in time.

"Great name, I know. But it's not the worst."

"Parents believe a hideous name will frighten off gnomes and trolls. Like our charming viking demeanour wouldn't do that."

An explosion then happened, which caused the two to fall onto their backs

A viking then ran to the two and yelled in their faces with his weapon raised

"Morning!"

(Y/n) then grabbed Hiccup's hand and pulled him to his feet, leading him through the crowds and chaos

"What are you doing here?!" One man asked the two as they ran past him

"Get inside!"

"What are you doing out?!"

"Get back inside!"

The two continued running but were then pulled back by their father

"Hiccup! (Y/n)!" He held them up
