Sebastian
"Imelda!" I shout as I storm into the Great Hall.
"There you are love—"
"What did you say to Amara?" I stand toe to toe with her.
Poppy wasn't sure what happened. All she told me was that she saw Amara leave the Great Hall and run toward the Floo flame. I caught Imelda and her cronies chuckling, and it wasn't difficult putting two and two together.
"I don't know what you're talking about," she giggles, and I fucking lose it.
"Don't you ever go near her again, do you hear me?" I hiss in a threatening tone.
"I don't know what you're talking about," she continues to smile, and my rage boils.
"Sebastian!" Poppy calls for me.
I glare at Imelda and huff, "This isn't over." I turn around and jog toward Poppy, ignoring the burning pain in my side.
"Ignatia won't tell me where Amara went. Maybe you can charm the arrogant statue."
Poppy and I rush toward the floo flame and she throws one of her quips at us. "You wouldn't believe how inconvenient travel was before I invented Floo Powder!"
"Cut the crap!" I snap.
"Sebastian..." Poppy lectures. "Be nice, she's the only one who knows where Amara went."
Ignatia arches her stone eyebrow at us, waiting to see what our plan is.
"Ignatia, darling—"
"Nice try, Sallow. That won't work me on."
I curse under my breath. "Please, Ignatia. Amara is a danger to herself right now. We need to find her before something drastic happens."
She watches me carefully, like she's trying to gauge if I'm telling the truth.
"How many times did Amara and I use your checkpoints for travel? You've seen us together. I wouldn't do anything to hurt her. Please, she needs a friend right now. She needs my help," I plead.
I would throw myself on my knees and beg this pain in the ass statue all night until she gave in. I would do anything to get to Amara, anything to save her.
"Please," I repeat, and my tone breaks as tears fill my eyes.
"Fine, but only you, Sebastian Sallow."
"Thank you." I drop my head in relief before looking over at Poppy.
"Go get her, but for the love of Merlin, Sebastian. Be gentle," she urges.
"I will. I'll bring her back no matter what." I approach Ignatia, and without warning, I'm surrounded by green flame.
Landing on my feet, I take a step forward. Ignatia sent Amara here? I don't understand, no one comes here.
The air is cold, but not as remotely cold as it gets in the winter season. Marunweem is a small hamlet on the coast of the Marunweem lake. I scan the area and come to the conclusion that Amara wouldn't be in the village. If she's like me, she wants quiet, and she wants to be alone.
Walking toward the lake, I keep my eyes open and my ears in tune to the environment. My stomach is swirling with a potent mixture of emotions. Worry is the main one. I don't know how dark Amara's thoughts have gotten, and I don't know if she's ever considered hurting herself or worse.
